Paul, Come To Australia

Fly Paul Fly to Australia:
Bruce Springsteen has been on the news taking photos with fans, visiting the gym and beach and soundcheck and words with the press and fans. He plays his 1st of 3 yes 3 shows tonight in Perth, yes Perth. The most isolated city in the world which is often left off many megastars tours in Australia
Icehouse were playing a gig on Rottnest island a week after I visited my brother in Perth. I went to Rottnest on that trip and - despite the heat which I detest with a passion - it would have been a great gig. On that note, I would much rather see a show in the cooler months. I get hot very quickly and the last thing I'd want is to be seeing Paul and not having the strength to move for the heat.

Bruce does it right!!!! Have been lucky enough to get the opportunity to buy tickets for one of two Japan shows I'm planning to attend, will have the result for the other this week. Not really counting on Aus dates but I'll find a way to go if they happen to occur. Still haven't had a reply from Marshall Arts though interestingly. I really don't know which way it will all roll, so will just let it happen and then make plans accordingly haha.

He is also doing shows in Adelaide, Brisbane, Hangimg Rock, Hunter Valley, and 2 in NZ (besides Sydney and Melbourne and above mentioned Perth) Am still hoping Paul decides to finally get there for all of you.

Happy Australia Day, everyone! It will be interesting to see whether we hear anything from Paul...
-
Probably useless information but I looked at when he posted his little message to us last year. That was around 9PM on Australia Day so that could be when we're most likely to see something. Or not, really. There's probably no connection whatsoever.

Thanks, W.D.. I meant to look into that, but didn't get around to it! I guess that would make it Australia Day in the UK also. Maybe we should all take bets today? Which of the following options do people think is most likely? Paul will... (a) Ignore Australia Day this year; (b) Send an Australia Day greeting with no mention of a tour (like last year); (c) Send an Australia Day greeting with an unambiguous tease about a tour (but not a formal announcement); or or (d) Send an Australia Day greeting that doubles as a tour announcement.

Well, I think we're all hoping for the last one. I've been listening to Gold 104.3 this morning (while making pancakes - not sure why, just fancied them) and they've had a great swathe of Aussie rock but they've also been talking about the Springsteen tour and doing a competition for Hanging Rock. I just thought that, with him in the country taking the "music" spotlight, might they avoid announcing a tour right now?

Good point. I'm hoping for the last one but expecting the first one!

Pretty much. Still, I'll be refreshing the page rather frequently come 9:00, I can tell you.

Waiting, waiting, waiting...: C'mon Paul!

Waiting, waiting, waiting...: C'mon Paul!
We're half an hour out from the exact anniversary of the tweet/post. I find myself becoming less and less optimistic with each minute. I don't know what I'd do if it did come but they'd be able to hear me in Perth probably.
-
Well... it is past nine o'clock in Melbourne.... but still only past six o'clock in the west. We live in hope of deliverance, but I am not holding my breath.

Me neither. But I'd love to be proven wrong!

It really is staggering that there has not been an announcement. Someone needs to inform Paul and his management that there are fans, venues, buzz and excitement in Australia that cannot continue to be ignored in fact a priority if anything. No matter how many billions Paul has it is economics pure and simple.

Yep, if I was him I would love to go there and perform. I have always dreamed of going to Australia but may not be able to cross it off my bucket list (lol) due to money and time. I hope for your country that he finally does come there, it would be awesome !! BTW - I am a big tennis fan and have been enjoying the Australian Open. I will be one of those who will get up at 3:30am in the US to watch the finals.

If only Venus was playing Kenneth Mars. That would be more of an omen. And a terribly one-sided contest. All the best to Venus. And the Fed Express.

Oh, no. Not tennis. I am the least sporty person you could imagine. I wouldn't mind so much except it's always on because I'm the only one in the house who doesn't like it. I wouldn't know what AAMI Stadium was for if it wasn't actually covered in soccer balls. To me it's just where Bruce Springsteen's playing in a couple of weeks.

I would like to see Venus win but I think Serena is just too good and will win in two sets.

That's ok, my two daughters are kind of the same way. One dances with a professional ballet company in the US and the other teaches dance.
