Have fun. I see it is a Celebrity ship, heard they are a good cruise line. My wife and I usually go on Royal Caribbean or Princess.

My previous 3 Beatles cruises have been on RC, but only 100 or less out of 8000+ on the ship were involved with the Beatles stuff. The entire Flower Power cruise on the Celebrity Summit (2000+ people) is either '60s music and/or Beatles fans. Some friends of mine that I originally met on the 2012 RC cruise just finished the 2017 FP cruise and are about to embark on the 11th on the Rock 'N Romance ('70s music) cruise!

Just curious. Did the RC staff handle the activities or was it another company running the "Flower Power" stuff?

The RC cruise Beatles stuff was run by Joe Johnson who DJs Beatle Brunch (he is now the host for FP and R&R cruises plus AROTR!) and a travel agent/Beatle fan, both of whom are out of Ft. Lauderdale where the ship(s) leave port. The travel agent now has nothing to do with the Celebrity cruises. She was just involved in 2015 and prior years. However, each cruise the tribute band did play for the entire ship in the big RC auditorium a couple times. Other than that, it was just us in various smaller venues in the ship. There were other guests each year like Tony Bramwell, Laurence Juber, Joey Molland, Billy J. Kramer, Mark Hudson, etc. The Flower Power/Rock & Romance cruises are on Celebrity, not RC. Your question mixed the two up. ETA: Star Vista runs the 2 Celebrity cruises and now Abbey Road On The River!

"The Flower Power/Rock & Romance cruises are on Celebrity, not RC. Your question mixed the two up. " Yep, the Beatle cruises you took were on RC - lol.

Is that considered a small ship by today's standards? I went on a cruise a few years ago with 2,000 other people and even then they said it was half the size of the larger ships.

Yes, the Celebrity Summit with 2000 or so on board is considered "small." I've been on Royal Caribbean's Oasis Of The Seas and Allure Of The Seas which are virtually identical and they carry 7000+ passengers (plus crew) and are almost the largest cruise ships in the world. Now that is Harmony Of The Seas (also RC) https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_largest_cruise_ships

7,000 people seems too crowded. I know those are huge ships, but can you go anywhere without being surrounded by people?

The ship is HUGE! It's literally a floating city with 16 decks. The Allure actually carries more passengers than Harmony: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/MS_Allure_of_the_Seas So, yes, you can get around quite nicely most of the time without being too crowded. The only times the promanade (deck 5) gets really crowded is during the weekly parade or if they have performances going on, which is also only once a week. Here is the Oasis (virtually same as Allure) next to a smaller ship that probably carries 1/4 as many passengers and crew.

Can't wait. Got balcony cabin.
What deck? I always get an inside cabin because I can't watch the ocean go by or I get sick, plus I like a real dark room. When is your cruise? Soon?
