Paul McCartney 2017 Rumors

5th-beatle:
Latest rumor of the Brazilian tour: Paul in S?o Paulo, October 15. If it comes true, I would bet on 2 shows in the city. A show in Salvador was mentioned too.
I would not expect 2 shows. From what I have been told, they will be jumping around all over the place.

I've read some tweets (not the best reliable source...) about Montevideo. So maybe we can expect Curitiba, Sao Paulo, Salvador, Montevideo in October. His last really proper SA leg was in 2014 * included 5 concerts (Uruguay, Chile x2, Peru, Ecuador), so it kind of make sense. *Not counting his visits to Brazil only in 2014 (November?) and Argentina in 2016

Fab4Clayton:
Bob said let the fun of guessing begin. So here goes. Ringo is touring in Oct. and Nov. It sure would be great if they appeared together. Or, at least, in the same vicinity within a day or two of each other. It could happen. I seem to remember going to New Orleans to see Paul and then going right over to Biloxi, MS to see Ringo. Fun times.
I don't like when they overlap because sometimes it means I have to choose. I have tix to see Ringo in Oct., so I kind of hope Paul is in SA then and not doing a show near me while I am out of town.

I tend to doubt a new tour name. One on One tour is still quite new with not all that many shows under it's belt. I don't know if they would re-brand so quick

Feel free to confirm/deny these, but I could see him playing some combination of these US cities. Obviously, he wouldn't play both Charlotte and Raleigh or Providence and Hartford, but I think these are all reasonable guesses. All of them have an arena larger than the one in Sioux Falls. I doubt Austin will see an arena show from him, since San Antonio and Houston have been waiting longer, although I could see him playing ACL Fest as it's one of the few he hasn't done in the US. Syracuse could be swapped for Rochester... Denver (last 2010) Baltimore (last 1964) Lexington (last 1990) San Antonio (last arena show 1993) Houston (last 2012) Las Vegas (last 2011) Tampa (last 2005) Memphis (last 2013) Miami (last 2010) Omaha (last 2005) Syracuse (last 1993) Austin City Limits music fest (never before, last played Austin 2013) Charlotte (last 2010) Raleigh (last 2002) Indianapolis (last 2013) Hartford (last 2002) Providence (never before) Anaheim (last 2005) Tucson (last 1976) Albuquerque (never before, Las Cruces 1993)

Swap out L.A. for Anaheim. Anaheim hasn't seen a show since 2005, so I think it's a prime candidate.

I'd bet maybe MSG gets some love as he hasn't played there since 2005

I think with the timing of this during the EASTer holiday makes me think there will be another chunk of shows on the east coast coming
-
Two very reliable sources (who have access to the Brazilian side of the negotiations) have now talked about the shows in S?o Paulo (Allianz Parque) and Salvador (Arena Fonte Nova), the latter being a city that Paul has never played at, which is apparently one of the reasons why he's interested in coming back. Another source claims that Paul's manager visited the stadium in a city called Manaus and liked what he saw, so apparently it's being considered as well. There was also that info from a few days ago about another city (Curitiba), which was leaked by someone connected to the stadium management. So right now there are at least 3 cities (maybe 4) trying to secure a deal for shows in October.

all of his shows seem to be in the northeast, midwest and pacific coast lately. No love for the south or the west.

Meaning if you choose to travel from far away to go see him, you may have to pay a little more to do so.

He will not come to Baltimore, at least not this year. Royal Farms Arena is a dump. The building is the original Baltimore Civic Center where the Beatles played in 1964 and maybe about 10% of the interior has changed since then. The biggest name we've had in the past ten years was Elton John, and I think that was a fluke. M&T Bank Stadium would be possible however, after the Metallica concert in May, it is undergoing major refurbishing throughout the summer...so I'd count that out this year. Camden Yards hasn't held a concert in my lifetime that I'm aware of and I don't see that trend shifting now. After ruling out those three "venues" (if you even want to call them that)...I don't see where he'd play in Baltimore or even nearby without calling it DC, and it's much too soon after doing two nights at Verizon Center last year.

Two points: 1) You've had other big name artists play the Royal Farms Arena: Eagles, Stevie Wonder, Prince, Garth Brooks, (all in 2015) and others, so you can't necessarily rule it out. 2) Paul played Philadelphia back to back in 2015 and 2016, so you can't necessarily count out Baltimore. His touring patterns can be somewhat difficult to predict, so you never know!

Or it could mean, sit tight as he could come to the city you live near (Atlanta?!) and you would save a lot because you wouldn't have to travel to see him! (Fan On The Run Rick and I both live near Atlanta)

Fair enough on some of those other artists...particularly The Eagles & Garth Brooks. The Prince show was one of those crazy dates that he announced like three days before the show because he was here doing charity work or something like that...and the Stevie Wonder show had notoriously low attendance. He has typically played our Pier Six Pavilion venue in the past...and ironically enough, was on the bill with The Beatles that day in 1964! Philly is a totally different animal. Paul has had nothing but success there his entire career...I still think it's totally weird he visited two years in a row, but I don't think its a totally fair comparison considering he has basically avoided Baltimore like the plague since the first US tour.

Maybe that there will be lots of shows to choose from, for those that like to see Paul more than once? So money for tickets and travel needs to be saved.
