Does this venue have a restaurant? Just wondering where the soundcheckers will go. And how are the parking lots there?
no restaurant that I know of. there are some "skyboxes" so maybe there is a club room. there was no restaurant at Summerfest (also a shed) so we were bused offsite. from what I remember just one giant parking lot there. not a lot of ways in or out of that place.

They have food stands and concession stands on both sides of the pavilion. You can bring in sealed water bottles but have to open them in front of security and throw the cap away (I keep an extra in my pocket!) Harlem Avenue is the main street once you zigzag away from the parking lot. Lots of places to eat up and down the street before or after...Buffalo Wild Wings, Wendys, CrackerBarrel, Culver's, and many more. I live right down the street and it took me 20 min to get in for a concert there two weeks ago. But after experiencing Candlestick for Macca, I should never complain about parking again. There are many ways into the place, but the police block most off...leaving you little choice on how to get to the lot except off of Harlem. You can get premium parking closer to the doors, but I havent done that. It is one GIANT lot. I always leave during the encore to get out and avoid a loooooong line out. I have never gotten out of there in under an hour without leaving early. If youre getting there via I-80...I recommend getting off at LaGrange and heading east. Getting off I-80 at Harlem before any event there, and you hit a wall of traffic.

Thanks for the driving & parking lot tips! I was wondering about a restaurant mainly for soundcheckers. I read about the premium pkg. I think it was $30.00.

Yes, it'll probably be in the skyboxes then.

Those won't be for the soundcheckers, though. At the indoor sports arenas, there is usually some sort of separate room/VIP club/area where the buffet dinner is served to the soundcheckers. Outdoor sheds don't always have the same kind of facilities, tho, so it could be interesting. And TM sent out a reminder that this show starts at 7:30 pm, which I'd completely forgotten about (most Paul start times are 8:00 pm).

So I ask this every show. lol Does anyone know where to go for limo watch? Is there a good place? Thanks.
-
No replies on limo watch, and then I started to think about it and look at a map. I'm not sure it's a great idea for this show anyway. Since it's in a suburb, I'm not sure where on earth I'd park that early, and then what would I do after for a couple of hours. Correct me if I'm wrong and it would be easier than I think. lol I have the whole day off tomorrow, but it sounds like it would be difficult to do.
-
They have a huge parking lot from what I've been told. I'm doing soundcheck so I will be there early for that. But I have no idea what entrance he'd be arriving at. One thing you could do if you arrive that early...is to try to listen to the soundcheck!
-
Apparently the parking lot opens at 5pm and the gates open at 6pm. So I'll just plan to be there by 5pm and see if I can see or hear anything. But I just can't see trying to get there much before that. I feel like there would be nowhere to go! And the venue site says no signs larger than 8.5 x 11?? Are people planing to bring signs anyway? I have one from Summerfest last year that I was planning to bring, so I guess I'll bring it in my car and see what happens? I mean, he likes the signs!

Does anybody know the first row in 103. Is it A? Did anyone buy a front row package (or any VIP package in 103) and can you shed some light on this? Thanks!!!

I thought I read that the front row will be D? But I don't know. They are probably different because of his extra stage. 81/2 x 11 for signs? haha!

I know! I think they're going to be turning away a lot of signs if they go with that. I'll just see what they tell me. Maybe Paul's people will overrule that, if they find out early enough. Otherwise, Paul's going to be wondering where all the signs are!
-
I have a pair of seats section 104 on the inner aisle row F (not sure if that is 3rd or 6th row) seats 1 and 2. Same exact location both nights. I just posted on the face value tickets thread too. Gonna put them up on stubhub for around face value since concert is so close.. so they may go fast so contact me if you want them. On stubhub there are added fees I think. )

It's like Christmas for some of us fans here in Chicagoland. I'm hearing Paul talked about at work, in stores, all over social media and the radio. People asking people "are you going to see Paul McCartney?" Lots of hype over tickets, and who has them, who's looking for them, etc. It's wonderful! This time it's extra special for me because he's coming to my town and playing right down the street. The next 2 days should be a blast! Time to "drink it all in"

I agree! And the commercials have been all over the TV & radio!

So what are you going to do? Bring 8.5x11? We can't decide what to do!

Denny Laine is in town for the Paul concerts and rumor is he'll be joining Paul on stage.

Yup and I think he's playing a solo date or two while in Chi-town too. It'll be interesting to see if Denny will be on stage. I'm guessing no but hey stranger things have happened.

I would be extremely surprised if he even got a shot out, let alone stage time...but I'd really enjoy being proven wrong! lol. Yeah, The Fest isn't for another 2 weeks (which I will be working this year!). But I heard a radio ad the other day for Denny Laine at WLS, but I don't remember the date. He comes to town quite a bit. I've seen him at Reggie's and a car dealership in the Orland/Tinley area.
