The Halifax soundcheck will be at 7pm Friday night. 50 winners of the radio contest are being told to meet on Robie Street near Welsford by 6pm. They were testing the sound system Thursday afternoon at the concert site. You can hear it all over central Halifax.

The soundcheck is 1:00 pm on SATURDAY! Found out tonight at the soundcheck contest thing (no...alas, I did not win-in).
So the most recent info is Sat 1:00 pm. Has the Fri 7 pm been scratched or is something else happening then (site inspection perhaps)? The only flight from the UK or NY arriving this morning is just before noon. Might have to grab my Timmy's at Stanfield International. DCD Ltd.

http://thechronicleherald.ca/Metro/1131561.html McCartney tickets going cheap online Many concertgoers shocked Saturday?s event hasn?t sold out By PAT LEE Staff Reporter Pssst. Wanna buy a cheap Paul McCartney ticket? Well, maybe not cheap. But with tickets still officially available for Saturday night?s concert, there are plenty of deals to be had online as sellers look to unload extras. I'm not sure what he flew when he visited for the seal protest but he and Mills walked through the airport like normal travellors for that. My wild guess is going to be a Continental flight from Newark that arrives in 1h15m. DCD Ltd.

http://thechronicleherald.ca/Editorial/1131563.html Ticket to rock: Mulling McCartney Fri. Jul 10 - 4:46 AM REGARDLESS of whether you?re a Beatles or Paul McCartney fan, there?s no denying the band?s or musician?s lasting influence on popular culture. The Beatles changed more than fashions and hairstyles in the 1960s. As they matured as a band, their political message inspired a peace movement. Musically, after establishing the beachhead for the British Invasion ? opening doors for many other English bands ? their increasingly innovative sound inspired scores of fellow musicians. Nearly 40 years after the Beatles split up, their records ? and McCartney?s

What kind of soundcheck Pau will play?? The usual with Matchbox-Midnight special-C-moon-Celebration etc etc Or some surprise songs??
-
Well we know about Mull Of Kintyre, so if Paul has any real surprises up his sleeve I'm guessing he won't broadcast the fact by rehearsing them in soundcheck. Martin
-
And what about Fireman songs? The same of the last concert(sing the change-higway) or new add? I vote for Dance till we're high and sun is shining

Any song off of Paul's last four CDs that was not played at Coachella or Vegas would be fine by me.

All You Need is Love...the winner. Well, I didn?t realize how challenging of a task this would be! I was overwhelmed with well over 200 emails from this post. Many stories that touched close to home and some that touched my soul and brought me close to tears (okay, who are we kidding?I had a box of tissues next to me). Stories from grandsons wanting to take grandfathers, daughters wanting to take mothers, and even an animal lover who took a loan out from the bank so his girlfriend?s cat could have emergency surgery (which has inadvertently left him with no extra cash at all). The stories were wide and varied. Some included lyrics. I laughed. I cried. I diligently replied to all ads last night after I got home from the Montes event (and no, I didn't get soundcheck tickets)?it meant that I didn?t get to bed until 2:30, but it was important for me to respond to everyone who took the time to share a piece of their lives with me. It was bittersweet, with only two tickets, it made me wish with every ounce of my being I could have 200, but I can say with a full heart the couple I?ve offered the tickets to has an incredible story. While I appreciate the very kind words that have been offered because I?m giving the tickets away, anything else just didn?t sit right with me. This is no grand gesture on my part; I am simply giving back to a universe that has been very gracious to me. Just a reminder that nice people do exist and love & kindness should prevail. It seems fitting for a man who wrote ?In the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make.? I have been toying with the idea of who to pass along the tickets to for a couple of days. I trusted I would find the people I was so desperately seeking. I wanted the feeling of just ?knowing? these were the people I wanted to give the tickets to. As I said, I received many heartfelt requests, and it was so difficult to narrow down to just one. But here?s their story; the submission came from their daughter (and has since been re-written by me). The Story? It all started with bubble gum. Brian and Linda started dating when they were 15 years old ? in 1962. Chivalry was alive and well as Brian won Linda?s heart by chewing his way through packs of cards to make sure Linda had the entire Beatles bubble gum card collection ? a collection Linda holds close to her heart to this day. A year later, on her 16th birthday, Brian bought Linda her first album ? the Beatles (of course). That was over 46 years ago, and since then Brian and Linda have had four children ? two girls and two boys. Two of their children were born with cerebral palsy. Raising special needs children meant Linda stayed at home to care for them, but also meant money was tight, but they made due with what they had ? always filling their home with love, compassion, and selflessness. Their daughter says even when they had very little, her parents were always helping others in any way they could. They have giving hearts and always put everyone else ? family, friends, and even strangers, before themselves. At just 15 years old, Brian and Linda?s son died suddenly from a brain aneurysm. Facing such a tremendous loss was devastating - but they knew they still had two special needs children and a daughter they needed to take care of. Though they were faced with incredible loss, it brought them even closer to their children and each other and reinforced the importance of family and community. Brian and Linda will be celebrating their 44th wedding anniversary this month, and at 62 years old, they have never been able to attend a concert before. *Names have been changed to respect the privacy of these individuals. What was the response to? - My call for "Free McCartney Tickets". Link below. http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/note.php?note_id=106079202370&ref=mf

Here is some info on the special concert shuttles just for tomorrow's Macca concert: http://halifax.ca/ConcertOnTheCommon/ConcertsontheCommon-transit.html I'll be taking a shuttle to the concert because there is no parking as far as I can tell near the concert site. To all those who are also going to Halifax show, let's all have a good time! And to those who are going to more than one show this summer, then the lyric "all through the summer I have followed you around" from "Winter Rose" applies to you all.

I saw a red private jet flying relatively low right over the harbour today around 1pm, heading in the direction of the airport. I was thinking "could it be?"
