I'll be taking a shuttle to the concert because there is no parking as far as I can tell near the concert site.
There are plenty of side streets if you are able to walk for a few minutes. We considered the shuttle but the return trip may be a long wait.

Watching the news this evening has got me excited for the show. We are heading down to the Commons now for a drive by from Citadel Hill and the surrounding area. I still find it hard to believe Paul is here in Halifax!
-
Paul's flight arrived at 7:10 this evening! This evening this is a soundcheck at the Common at 9:00 pm! A friend that works at the airport says there is a possibility there is another band there, too. Is Paul sneaking in another act?!
-
I was driving into Halifax around 7:30 or so and there was a major dignitary coming in with flashing lights, 3 cop cars, and I was later told that this was the direction from the airport. The road split at one point and I didn't know which way to go and ended up not following them all over the bridge.. I drove to Halifax from NJ over the last 2 days !! and just as I came in, Paul started an unannounced soundcheck on the Commons! It was a lot like it must have been when the Beatles did their rooftop concert. People just stopped what they were doing and hung outside the fence watching the big monitors and listening. I missed the first half hour or so, but stood out there for well over an hour. It's chilly and damp - Paul threw on a couple of coats at one point after sunset. He sounds great as always. He practiced Mull of Kintyre with the pipe band for about a half hour. I'm zonked and hungry, and will meet up with the folks I'll be at the concert with tomorrow soon for dinner (after 11pm!).

I had posted where Paul was staying, but it got edited out due to safety concerns. It was actually in one of the local papers, and on a local city councellors web page, so isn't a secret.

EXCLUSIVE: Paul McCartney soundcheck report direct from Halifax Steve Marinucci Beatles Examiner Here's a report direct from Halifax of Paul's soundcheck in Halifax tonight. Thanks to Patti Murawski, who is there, and Kris Tash, who relayed it to us: Hi, Steve! I just got a call from Patti up in Canada. She is there with her roommate and they got to hear (and somewhat see!) Paul's soundcheck in Halifax!! He arrived at the venue around 8:15 p.m. and the soundcheck went on until approx 9:45 p.m. They were standing at the edge of the park, and were able to even see some of it on the screens around the stage! Here is a list of the songs: Hi Ho Silver (singing Nova Scotia, Nova Scotia) Let Me Roll It Coming Up Drive My Car Only Mama Knows Midnight Special San Francisco Bay Blues It's So Easy (the Buddy Holly song!) C-Moon Celebration The Long and Winding Road acoustic jam Mull of Kintyre (done 3 times with the piper band!) The girls saw him leave after the rehearsal. They said temperatures are pretty chilly up in Halifax tonight, but there are already some fans camped out and prepared to spend the night! Doors to the park open tomorrow at 3 p.m.

We having a great time in Halifax. A blue sky. The sun is shining. 23 degrees. Yesterday afternoon we have been waiting with a couple of twenty at the entrance of the venue to welcome Paul as he should come for the sound check. He looked so well. Tanned and very happy. He waves out the window to us and said hello. Halifax is a very beautiful village with very kind people. The whole village is excited as Paul had chosen their village for a concert. And what to think if you are as a fan in the hotel as Paul McCartney and his band. Wow, I couldn't believe this. How very special! Here some pictures.
