Yesterday & now:

21st Century Paul:
One day, some said here that they went to a record store and there was a divider for Jesse McCartney but none for Paul McCartney... that's when I thought "It's here"
Please forgive my nation for forcing Jesse McCartney and Justin Bieber on the world. Sometimes we let the loonies escape. At least here you rarely ever hear of Jesse McCartney, that Paul fella..........quite a different story. Is it true that many of the English players earn £100,000 for playing football? I see that in the US our MLS (Major League Soccer Players) earn from $40,000 (seems $40 to 60,000 being average) to Beckham's range of $5.5 million (second highest and one that didn't miss many games at all Landon Donovan at $3 million.).

21st Century Paul:
That's what I call the Lennon attittude. (hey we can talk about anything, cause football always kind of shows how things are...) What can I say bout "more than football"... I don't know if you'll feel better or worse if I say it's the same think going on Spain. (And then still some people wonder why a "crisis" happens.... see what most of the people like/want). And one of the worst things about the likeness for lack of talent (You sure know a "normal" way to say in English, not so "snob" but I don't :lol... is that people who has talent or at least some talent wonder what the heck they have to do with it. I mean, if that's what people like... should I do like them? or should I do nothing?... I can imagine Paul going crazy bout what kind of music do of how to sing. Yes, even Paul can doubt... and think he must scream instead of singing... cause there's no-one singing in the charts (or so...). I always said many years ago that an economical big crisis would come but I didn't know when ("it's not gonna be tomorrow but we won't have to wait 20 years..."). One day, some said here that they went to a record store and there was a divider for Jesse McCartney but none for Paul McCartney... that's when I thought "It's here"
That's sad about there being a Jesse McCartney divider and not a Paul section. The mind boggles!! Thanks for listening and wishing you the best for the Spain Portugal match later today..

The thing is those that are really popular there not necesarily are here in the end, virtually no-one knows here Taylor Swift, Adam Lambert, that McCartney, Justin Bieber... and others I don't even know. Well, the "ones escaping" Spain are not sometimes the best at all... I figure someone in the USA may imagine the music of Spain like... Los Del Rio (Macarena), Las Ketchup (Asereje) and Enrique Iglesias... and virtually no-one does music like that here... or even listens to music like that... English wages? yes, that's true, It's similar to Spanish players. The ones of biggest teams earn a milion dolar/euros per year. Not the stars of the team, but anyone on the team... and then the ones with highest salaries are earning 10 milion per year or so... still much lower than the NBA, for instance...

Hey, thank you The "divider" nightmare... like "this must be a dream! no divider for Paul McCartney and a divider for someone I don't know who he is... some Paul's son? no there is no "Jesse"... well, if you type "McCartney"on yahoo, Jesse McCartney apears before Paul McCartney, then is "Jenny McCartney" and then "Stella McCartney"

Yesterday & now:
Argentina vs Brazil to the final!!!!
This tournament is turing into the Copa America. Possible semifinal matchups of: Brazil v Uruguay Argentina v Paraguay. I want Spain to win it all, but I wouldn't mind a final of Holland v Argentina.
unclesox:
Before the tournament kicked off I placed these bets: $20 @ 16/5 Uruguay to win Group A WINNER! $20 @ 11/2 Slovakia to win Group F Oh, very close! $20 @ 7/4 Slovenia to advance out of Group C Oh, very close! $20 @ 13/2 Argentina to win the tournament $20 @ 9/1 Holland to win the tournament Not bad, eh? Took some risks and they may pay off.

Woo good job Spain!! Now time to go all the way!
-
Fantastic! This is more like Spain (maybe only a bit more and they're there...) They got rid of the 4-2-3-1. And they got a lot of patience. Just like against Italy, a 0-0 wouldn't be bad for Spain, as we have better penalty shooters and a better goalkepper, so... Fantastic goal, in the style of 1970's Brazil. And now the optimism is "official" here. "and bad mistakes I've made a few..." The "collective and creative" goal (Alonso to Iniesta to Llorente to Iniesta to Xavi to Villa)
Ronaldo spitting at the camera? at the end The "spit" scene -
Standings of the Fantasy Football before quarterfinals 1 my team 365 (106 this round) 2 daniel's team 332 (97) 3 unclesox's team 312 (89)

FIFA has changed their ways and the referees with big mistakes won't be on quarterfinals. Also they're kind of apologizing for the ball. Secretary General Jerome Valcke said this weekend: "We're not deaf. FIFA is not unreceptive about what has been said about the ball." Casillas said the ball is "rotten" and Maradona believes its "uncertain flight has resulted in less long passes." "uncertain flight", that's it there are hardly good crossing or great long air passes. But Maradona still shoots all the time to the top corner "training" Argentina's goalkeepers (that don't do more than just look)

Byebye Brazil!!!! 2-1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some people take sports way too serious! It's crazy! It's just a game! The FIFA finally apologized to Mexico and England, but not the United States! http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/06/29/fifa-world-cup-apology-se_n_628861.html I watched the Argentina vs. Mexico game. The Mexican players got so upset after Carlos Tevez' first goal, they lost all concentration. They were so mad , they couldn't focus. Even after the game, they were arguing with the referee. What was the point of arguing? They would have lost regardless! Bottomline, Mexico lost. Originally, 3 to 1. Or now, it's officially, 2 to 1. What's the difference? Does it really matter?

your dream came true after watching the first half I thought Holland will lose 3-0 but everything changed when that crazy goal came ... viva Holland Brazil cant win without names like Ronaldinho or Ronaldo, those names makes the art and difference Holland was very slow ( they are in all their matches) , they need a striker with Robin, they wasted alot of balls... I think they could have scored more and more , but they are very slow in attack. Holland had the greatest players all the time from 70's till now, they can beat any team any time, at the same time they may lose with against a weak team! but they deserve a world cup

http://www.nationalpost.com/Mighty+Brazil+falls+Netherlands/3228279/story.html The Netherlands beats Brasil CONGRATULATION TO MY COUNTRY The Netherlands are gonna win the World Cup. No one can beat the orange Lions.

Ammar:
your dream came true
Haha, not yet. I'm just sooo happy that we beat the Brazilians, if only because the whole country was convinced they were gonna beat the Dutch with big numbers.
Ammar:
after watching the first half I thought Holland will lose 3-0
That's what we thought as well. But in the second half the Brazilians got weaker while the Dutch got stronger. First the goalie made a huge mistake. And then Melo ruined it for his team by getting himself a red card after a disgusting faul. They SHOULD be able to beat Uruguay or Ghana, we'll find out Tues night. With the tropical weather over here right now, I'm sure there are many parties going on in the Dutch cities tonight

well, the thing is that was the first goal of the match... and the first goal always changes the match, it forces the team that's losing to risk more... another question is why complaining if the referee is not gonna change his mind?... I guess Paul sure has a song kind of "what's the use of complaning? no use!" or so...
