Set List critique

yankeefan7:
Mr. McCartney has been playing a mostly Beatle show for close to 15 yrs. I truly doubt he was facing his mortality that far back but who knows - lol.
George died 15 years ago so maybe he was. We don't really know.

For the concert in Norway fans can supposedly "vote" for a song they want Paul to play. I see lots of people suggesting Let It Be, Band On The Run, Blacbird, Hey Jude and Yesterday. Oh, and everyone's favourite on these boards, Maybe I'm Amazed. For the love og god. Do people not think he will play those anyway, lol? : I hope Paul's team pick a less obvious song or else it's a complete waste.

I have a feeling the "winning" song will be one already in the current set list!
-
audi:
Ah...complacency. How lovely.
-
well, you audi have been in 5 Paul concerts... and you Rmartinez have been to... 9, I think... don't you think that there is a chance that having already seen Paul so much has made you both more exacting? I mean if the concert I went past Thursday would have been my first Paul concert then nothing on my setlist would have seemed boring to me.

again another prove people don't check setlists. They don't know what Paul is playing in this tour.

Since kind of everyone suggest songs I wouldn't be myself If I, again didn't suggest the boldest choice of them all. The ultimate "I play what I like to play and I don't care bout the critiques.": We all... stand... together!!!!
-
"You're putting a few new numbers in, changing the presentation a little bit, just so anyone who saw that tour and wants to come to this one isn't bored," he says. "We just switch it up and make some changes. Then you're allowed to call it something else." http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/paul-mccartney-talks-summer-tour-new-pure-mccartney-comp-20160607 Aha...

that's the second interessting part of the interview: ""Even though there's a lot of Beatles fans and Wings fans in the audience, there's still a lot of people who want to hear something different or something new or a little bit of a deep cut. I like to keep them happy too." He suggested a series of concerts filled with the deepest cuts. "You'd have to call the tour 'You're Not Going to Like This One,'" McCartney jokes. "It would be a different vibe altogether." omg aha ohhh!!! He knows there are also lot's of fans who want to hear something different...!

What does he mean with "deepest cuts"? the songs he never plays?, the songs that are not popular? http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Deep%20Cut "rarely if ever, played on the radio", cool if he think of that.... But no No More Lonely Nights then cause they play it constantly here.

You may be correct.

21st Century Paul:
Well, there's a possibility that I guess many don't even like to be imagined as a joke. But if Paul goes all about the Beatles... Do you know what "Queen+Paul Rodgers" or "Queen+Adam Lambert" is?. Paul and Ringo could do it with say Clapton and Julian Lennon, u know and do a tour like The Beatles+Clapton. It CAN happen.
But Paul is already doing that. He talks in interviews as if A Hard Day's Night and Mr. Kite are songs he wrote.

Unless you see "The Beatles" instead of "Paul McCartney" as the artist announced to perform, Paul is not doing that.

His set list says that. Paul has so many amazing tunes he wrote, why on earth is he playing John Lennon songs instead of his own fantastic tunes?

Very simple. It is a Beatle song and will get huge applause and feed his fragile ego. A solo song will not be as well known and will not get the same reaction. People attending the show will not care that it was he is doing Lennon song.

not that simple, Mr Kite doesn't get a huge ovation, for instance...

as someone said maybe just cause they remind him of the Beatles, the thing he has done he's most proud of...

Yup. And many attending think he wrote it.
