If I had done a top 40 then it probably would have been in there somewhere, but not in my top 10. I can understand why its so well liked but its not personally a favourite of mine any more than My Love would be. There are certain songs I can appreciate without actually wanting to listen to them. And "Maybe I'm Amazed" is one of them. At least I like Somedays,Waterfalls & Junk from your top 40.....plus many others had I considered Wings songs as being Solo songs.

One thing I've just noticed is that these listings are staying in the same format as they were originally posted. The last time I created a list it was all squashed up in a series of lines after a few hours.

True. I wonder if it will last. Another thing that seems to be fixed is when copying links to this site, you don't need to put it in the "link" icon box. It becomes clickable automatically. I would love for the youtube button to work correctly rather than disappearing after an hour.

I hadn't realised that. I'll have to try it the next time I have a link to post.

Here’s Rolling Stone magazine’s top 40:

It's a pity the guys who run this message board don't regularly post up news on when they've updated / solved their coding issues and not just let users discover,by accident, that things actually work now.

great examining the list
thought so "Maybe I am Amazed" would be people's number 1
Paul's vocals were strong then
Some songs never heard of, good surprise e.g."Angry"
thought "Mull of Kintrye" would be higher though
I myself would go for "A little Luck" as my number1
also noticed it took 3 people to comile the Rolling stone list, shows how difficult to make Paul's top 40 list

Yeah, I found that out. Haven’t listened to that album since maybe 2013. (whenever the remaster came out) I won the 2-CD set in a Beatles trivia contest on a Beatles cruise.

No doubt I'm a Paul McCartney Nerd so this sort of exercise is right down my alley. Also no doubt that this sort of list is a matter of personal opinion. No one is right and no one is wrong.
Because Macca's musical Post Beatles' Catalog is do diverse and huge, I'm going to set some boundaries for this list. With that in mind, I'm going to stick with Paul's original Post Beatles' Pop-Rock Studio albums and A-sided singles. At another time, it would be easy to do a 40 or even 50 Paul tracklist with just unreleased work, B-sides, rare versions etc. Hard to believe but that would be a very good quality list as well.
But as far as my Paul's Top 40 (or in my case 50) "known" Paul songs, my list is below. There is "no order" here and to make it easy for me, I'm basicallly going in album and/or single order.
1. Maybe I'm Amazed
2. Every Night
3. Too Many People
4. Dear Boy
5. Live and Let Die
6. Single Pigeon
7. Band of the Run
8. Jet
9.. 1985.
10. Love In Song
11. Letting Go
12.. Beware My Love
13. Silly Love Songs
14. With a Little Luck (studio version)
15. Don't Let It Bring You Down
16. Mull of Kintyre
17. Arrow Through Me
18. Winter Rose/Love Awake
19. Coming Up
20. Tug of War (the song)
21. Take it Away
22. Somebody Who Cares
23. Wanderlust
24. Here Today
25. Pipes of Peace
26. The Other Me
27. Footprints
28. Only Love Remains
29. My Brave Face
30. Put It There
31. Distractions
32. Hope Of Deliverance
33. Somedays
34. Calico Skies
35. Little Willow
36. Beutiful Night
37. Lonely Road
38. Jenny Wren
39. Too Much Rain
40. Riding to Vanity Fair
41. Ever Present Past
42. Only Mama Knows
43. Mr. Bellamy
44. Only Our Hearts
45. My Valentine
46. Alligator
47. Early Days
48. I Don't Know
49. Happy With You
50. Dominoes
Wow...it was hard to keep it to 50. There was approximately another 20 that could have easily made this sort of "my best song" list. Just shows that Paul needs a better, more complete Anthology Box Set done by "Decade". The list above covers every decade from the 70's to the present time and there are so many very good to great songs.
