Any boardies keen to meet up? I'll be about all day so if any of you are it'll be nice to meet some of you
What does one say to Paul at this point? Like, he’s seen and heard everything! Is there any way of saying anything original that’ll stand out ( or at least not be a retread of everything that fans have said to him already)?
Speaking of saying the wrong thing... I'm sure if I went to a Paul book signing, and it was my turn in line, he'd see me and say, "Hello there, who should I sign this to?" And I'd probably reply (with hands to face, unable to breathe) "I have no idea..." Then after a few moments of puzzlement, Paul would say "You don't know what your name is? Well, I'll just sign my own name then... Have a good day, shy person!"
Know all of you that are able to go to the Hey Granddude book signing will have a great and memorable time, I'm sure it will be an experience you'll always remember and cherish. I'm sure everything will go well and always remember when it comes to seeing Paul in person it's ok to be a little tongue-tied and nervous, he knows how much we all love and appreciate him, and have always dreamed of being able to see him, or get his autograph.

Remember he is used to people being nervous when meeting him and he does have a way of putting you at ease, even in a very quick encouter. If I was there, I'd probably try to thank him for doing the signing and say something about the book and that would be about as coherent as I'd manage before babbling out something silly.
You will be fine! I'm excited for everyone who will be there and can't wait to hear all of the stories! I hope Waterstones does a good job of keeping things moving and organized so that everyone who's in the queue gets their chance to meet Paul.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the stupidity of doing this book signing session involving children during the week following their return to school? How many parents are now going to be fined for taking their children out of school? Still,at least they can sell their signed book on eBay and with the cash pay off the fine and pocket the remainder.

I’m thinking of saying something about how I saw him at the Cavern Club last year maybe. Not many people can say that to him. He’ll know what to say to fans, he’s been dealing with it for nearly 60 years. Can’t believe this is happening

God only knows. Now when I click on it, it takes me to Sonny McCartney’s IG! Tried it again and it finally did go to the right place!

Just had a look around Waterstones & got told the capacity is about 100 so it really is small

Hi Kestrel. I posted something similar on the Facebook page. I agree, it seems a bit of an own goal. Personally I think the launch should have happened at the Edinburgh Book Festival in August.

I wonder if that’s 100 total bodies, or just the adults. Because if most adults bring at least 1 child, it could get a bit crazy, haha!

There’s 3 of us here & so far no children. A few others are joining that don’t have children either

Haha! I saw you guys earlier as I walked by! Hopefully the line won’t get too bad before I can get in line! A little worried though,

Are people being turned away? Going to head down in an hour but thought 2 o clock was the arrival time!

Didn't get turned away.. but did ask a lady setting up the room whether he would be doing an arrival, as I didn't get a ticket, I'd like to at least see him going in. But she wouldn't say yes or no.
Does anyone know whether there will be a chance to catch him arriving??

For some reason I got the date wrong and thought that it was next Monday that he was appearing. That's why I mentioned 'during the week following their retun to school' which isn't true. Nevertheless, most kids (not attending private schools though) are back at school now so the timing is still a bit strange. Anytime in August would certainly have been better.

Just got here and already there’s a hefty queue! Split into 2 so not blocking the pavement, people certainly aren’t being turned away
