Come on Howard. Another generic interview with McCartney. As usual, nothing new and as usual not one question about Wings or his solo career. Just Beatles, Beatles, Beatles. The only interesting part of the interview was when Howard asked Paul why he just didn't continue The Beatles without Lennon. Other than that, IMO, the same old questions and answers.

Paul actually mentions cancelling his tour, and "hopefully rescheduling it for next year".

Paul could've. John wanted to leave. George tried it before. Then Ringo. Then John during the Abbey Rosd sessions.
So better than that, he quit. For good. And started his own bands, Wings, The Firemen, and Lumpy Trousers.

This is an article that Howard said Nancy (Paul's wife) sent him:

The author of the article coincidentally has the same last name as Nancy's ex-husband (Blakeman)

Well, I did make it to the end of the interview....just. Howard Stern is another one of those annoying interviewers who likes the sound of his own voice. Why he couldn't just ask a question and then shut up and allow Paul to answer is beyond me. Some interesting info did finally emerge about the new Let It Be film. I can't wait for that release.

Howard said in the interview that it was written by her x brother-in-law.

Interviews with McCartney are usually very frustrating to me. It is like he died musically in 1980 and it is rare anything about his music after that time is asked him. If McCartney is promoting new record/book than there may be one or two questions about it and then back to the Beatles. McCartney shares some of the blame because in pre-interview he is asked what he would like to talk about and he could steer the interview about other subjects besides the Beatles. Obviously, McCartney never tires of answering the same basic questions which are in his comfort zone.IMO this is a shame for people on this board who know all the basic stories/info and craving something different. For example, I would have liked to know the current status of the musical he is helping write called "It's A Wonderful Life". Oh well -lol

I haven't listened to it yet, so didn't know. Going to listen today.

Another one from the Stern Show

Thank you for posting the clips of the interview.
It was SO nice to hear from Paul during this very unsettling time; I am glad he is doing well. It's too bad he and Nancy are not together, that must be rough, and who knows when the lock down will be lifted.
The interview was a funny one, in a way. Paul was full of stories and you can tell just wanted to talk and share. Howard Stern could've asked more diverse questions, in my opinion. He has had Paul on his show many times, there is so much to ask Paul rather than just rehashing old topics. I would've liked him to ask about Ringo!! (has he spoken to him, I am sure he has, how is he doing during this pandemic??) and asked him about his Broadway musical play-how is that going?
I like that he talked about the Let it Be doc. Paul likes the happy, friendship aspect of it, which is an aspect of the Let it Be period that all Beatle fans will want to see. I like Paul's favourite John/Paul story from the doc, I will be looking for it when I see the doc!
