I have all of them too & it is hard to pick a favorite. All depends on which songs you like best. You should go for the ones that you don't have the 2 cd versions of.
I think he wanted to know which one had the better content (extras) Not sure if he was also referring to the books, etc.
But I agree, he should get the ones he doesn't have the 2 CD versions of even.
Yes, I guess neither of us gave him the answer (see what I did there).

So, now we have had 13 issues of the archive series -
2010 - band on the run
2011 - McCartney and McCartney II
2012 - Ram
2013 - Wings over America
2014 - Venus & Mars and Wings at the speed of sound
2015 - Tug of War & Pipes of peace
2017 - Flowrers in the dirt
2018 - RRS and Wild life
2020 - Flaming pie.
I have got 7 out of the 13 on the new 2CD issue, which is the most affordable standard for new material.
I'm wondering if you had a choice of a 'super deluxe' issue, then which one would you choose? I want answers based on new material rather than quality, as I have all vinyl and original CD releases. I want to start saving for the super deluxe editions and want to know what I'm missing out on??My two favorite deluxe sets are RAM, which had so many personal memories around the making of that album. Beautiful materials, personal item such as artworks from the children and just chock a block full of items that made you think of that album.
The other deluxe album was for Electric Arguments. The metal pizza box, the hand written note, the art project with Youth. It was so well thought out.

It's easier to answer which one to avoid, which is Band On The Run. Apparently nothing exists in the archives with regards to the original sessions and this is reflected by the disappointing track selection of the Deluxe Edition. Typically Wings best album is the one that is so poorly served.

That is the only one that I did not buy. It had a previous special release for the 25th anniversary which I bought.

I didn't even know Electric Arguments had a deluxe set!

I didn't know "Electric Arguments" got the deluxe remastered treatment either, until I saw that vid. The guy in the vid said they wouldn't make that fine heavy metal box for one today; that was a one shot deal. I always wondered if Macca titled his album "Electric Arguments" inspired by some spirited debates (fighting, actually, sometimes) going on, on the message boards at that time. I must admit to being. during that period, like a rabid pitbull at times insisting on no over the top criticism of Macca and his work-- I was one of the ringleaders in the fighting. I remember a poster asserting, "these message board forums aren't for Macca, they're for the fans." I sort of regret being like that, back then. So dogmatic and overly protective. Some of my fervor, my passion resulted from pent up frustrations; I'd wanted to participate at Paul's website for a long time, but was dissuaded by Heather M. being part of it then. I don't know why I felt so put off by that. Almost as if afraid of her, LOL. I got weirded out some by EA. I wasn't familiar with his "Fireman" experimental ambient music persona or the other Fireman albums. That odd reaction was a good thing, as it meant being exposed to something different and new, learning about (to me) a new kind of music. Electronica, sort of, I guess you could call it. I still don't completely understand it, but that's a positive, having always sought out and needed variety and novelty. I never could have participated in all night "rave" parties set to endless electronica while waving glow sticks, though; I'd have fallen out from exhaustion (laughs) after awhile. I think it would have gotten on my nerves. Especially if fueled by "molly" and "ecstasy" and the like, which have killed some people. Went off on another digressive diatribe. Sorry.

I have only bought the special 2 Disc versions of all the Archive Editions that in the US were sold at Target. I also bought the first one...Band on the Run that was sold at Best Buy I believe. BOTR had 2 Discs plus the DVD. I loved the DVD because it contained most of the 'One Hand Clapping" Show. It was great seeing and hearing Paul/Band performing "live"the big BOTR hits plus songs like Soily, Little Woman Love, Let's Love (Paul had written it for Peggy Lee Pre Beatles), All of You, I'll Give You a Ring, Baby Face. That was also the first time I saw Paul performing 1985 from BOTR which was a great "live" version. For the great price of like $20. at Best Buy that was probably my favorite package.
As far at the other 2 Disc Archive sets, my next favorite would easily be the 2018 Red Rose Speedway set because Disc 2 was filled with complete, high quality songs (no snippets of songs) like Best Friend, the Mess, I Lie Around, Night Out, Country Dreamer, Seaside Woman, Mama's Little Girl, I Would Only Smile (Denny Laine), Tragedy, Thank You Darling, Live and Let Die, and 1882.

Susy I'm thinking that at the time of the album release, it was decided that most likely the name would have possibly been influenced by the book
Van Gogh And Gauguin: Electric Arguments And Utopian Dreams
Book by Bradley Collins
Van Gogh and Gauguin lived and painted together for two months and their stormy relationship is still of interest to many today. "After what Gauguin claimed was an attempt to attack him with a razor, van Gogh reportedly mutilated his own left ear. Gauguin then left for Paris after a stay of only two months."

Same w/ me. I only purchased the 2cd/dvd Archive. Purchasing the full box would of been redundant & expensive. By far his best Wings album however I agree w/ Kestrel in that the Archive release is disappointing as compared to the other Archives.

Hey man, long time no hear! It's been forever since you've posted!
I may have already asked you this, but who is the guy in your avatar? Every time I see it I think it's David Boreanaz (Buffy, Angel, Bones, SEAL Team) but I know it's not! -

This one didn't get the "deluxe" treatment i.e. and archive release. This was the deluxe version released at the time. The stems disc was a nice touch.
