It didn't take long for me to think of another "unreleased" song that I inadvertently forgot. It's a song from the Pipes of Peace Sessions that was included as a Bonus Track in the Pipes of Peace (Collector's Edition) Reissue Album in 1993. The song is called "Simple As That".
Although made available on the Pipes of Peace Reissue album the song was actually recorded following the Press to Play sessions.
And with reference to 1882, this song was only ever performed on the summer 1972 European tour and not during the UK University tour earlier in 1972. And of course the great guitar work was by Henry McCullough and not Hugh McCullough...I think you had Hugh McCracken half in mind? Anyway, 1882 is a great song with perhaps one of Paul's most intriguing lyrics.

This is pretty cool rocker - "I Love This House"
Short but not bad blues type of song - "Waiting For The Train To Get In"
-
The ones I wonder about are the songs we haven't heard in any form, like "You Are Still Here" (sometimes referenced as just "You Are Here") from the Driving Rain sessions. I wonder what else we haven't heard?

Hey Yankeefan...nice to see you back. By the way, just sent you a PM.

Never heard of that one Bruce. He has so many it seems.

Hey Kestrel...Thanks for the info on "Simple As That" and "1882". I like "1882"too. I think it's more for the hard core fan like you and me. Hard to believe it was part of his setlist in the Summer of 1972. A real rarity indeed. And you are right. It was Henry playing that great bluesy guitar.
Was that Paul and Linda's children doing background vocals on "Simple As That"?

Yes, Mary,Stella and James have been credited as backing vocalists on SAT.

Never heard of that one Bruce. He has so many it seems.
I remember it being referenced in more than one article prior to the release of Driving Rain. The implication was that it was for Linda. I also remember Paul mentioning around that time he'd written a number of sad songs, and most of what got onto DR wasn't really in that vein. The Paul McCartney Project references it here.

Regarding songs we haven't heard, I just saw this article:
https://ultimateclassicrock.com/paul-mccartney-eleanor-rigby-style-songs/
where Paul mentions having a few Eleanor Rigby "story"type of songs that haven't been released and are in the vault. He says it's because they aren't that good, but regardless I'd love to be able to hear them.
The songs he has from over the years that we've never heard are what I'm most interested in. Then there are the "High in the Clouds"soundtrack and the "It's a Wonderful Life" score too.

These songs came to my mind immediately...
I Wanna Cry - Paul singing the blues and playing some tasty lead guitar.
I'll Give You A Ring - A lovely song featuring Paul on piano and showing off his fun play with words.
Rainclouds - A beautiful song written with Denny Laine.
My Best Friend - A song Paul played back when he first started playing live with Wings. Very nice.
And there are many more....

I like this one too Yankeefan. Again, Paul has David Gilmour on it. Very 80's sounding but I love the groove on this song. Definitely a strong candidate for an 80's Disc of Paul's rare stuff.

Another nice and very rare Paul song (never on an original McCartney Album) is "My Soul". Technically it was cowritten by Paul and British-Indian Musician and Producer Nitin Sawhney. It appeared on Mr. Sawhney's 2008 album called London Undersound.
Wonder what others here think of the song. It is on Youtube under Nitin Sawhney and London Undersound.
thanks

If someone could send us the Youtube clip for "My Soul", it would be appreciated. You might have to use the clip under Nitin Sawhney and Paul since the Youtube clips from just "My Soul) and Paul McCartney had some problems with the "volume" control. Thanks

It is a pleasant song, nothing more IMO. He uses his falsetto voice a bunch which is fine.

Thanks for the great comments previously. I also really enjoy My Soul. Haven’t heard that one in a while. So many beautiful songs that need to find a home on an album
Sorry for the delay, have been tied up with a little minor surgery and working on a large project that popped up. I actually found the Ethel & Ernest DVD which should arrive any day!!! Also just received the Red Square DVD which has a bonus bit in St. Petersburg. Loved that concert!

I like it but not as much as some of my all timers from my original list or some of the ones from Love2Travel's list. The song /melody has a nice crescendo to it. The Indian Producer (especially with the female background voices) has his own style for sure. But I can hear Paul's melodic style to it at the same time.

Hope you're feeling better Love2Travel. Yes I also remember "My Soul" from a few years ago.
I'll have to bring out the Red Square DVD. Speaking about not hearing something in a long time. I still remember the faces of the Russian audience when they heard Paul and Band playing some of the famous Beatle songs. I especially liked Paul doing Calico Skies and when Putin finally showed up.
And I can't get "In the Blink of an Eye" (from the Ernest and Ethel Soundtrack) out of my head. That and the song "222" (and a few others) were great finds.
