Betty White was the first celebrity death in more than a year that really hit me. It just felt like she was supposed to live to 100, maybe 150. But it's been wonderful seeing all the clips of her that people have shared online (one of the things Twitter is actually good for). A couple I had never seen made me laugh harder than I've laughed in years. What an amazing talent -- and, by pretty much all accounts, a lovely person.
My favorite response of hers was to the question "Betty, is there anything left you'd like to do?" and without missing a beat she said "Robert Redford."

I think you have to be of a certain age -- as many of us on this forum are -- to truly appreciate how important Sidney Poitier was.
