@oobu24 Here we sit, out of breath
And nobody asked us to play
Old people's home for the day
Nobody asked us to play.
The above lyrics are from the Venus & Mars album. I think the song is called, Lonely Old People. It was about Paul and Linda ending up in an old folks home together WAY down the road. And even the folks in the home don't want them to play. That picture of Paul sitting at the table above reminds me of that song. Of course I know he's definitely not lonely. He's got his loving family around him. But BOY!! I hate seeing him looking old. Almost breaks my heart️ -
@wandy I know what you mean but boy, he's had a full life.

@oobu24 Ain't that the truth!! The Stars today can't even dream of a career like that.

He's earned the right to look old, and he looks a hell of a lot better than some people that age. Is it a little sad to see an icon in old age? I suppose, but yesterday was the anniversary of John Lennon's murder. Hell yes, I wish I'd gotten to see John get old.

@bruce-m Too bl**dy true. But I still hate it just the same.️ In the old days before Youtube, over here in the UK, the BBC would usually put on a Beatles movie on Christmas morning, usually AHDN or Help! And they didn't do this every year, so you might go 3 years or more without seeing the Beatles on TV. So when they did broadcast a Beatles movie, it was SUCH a treat!! And on Christmas morning everything revolved around that movie. It would be broadcast at around 10.am, and I would expressly tell my mum DONT give me my breakfast at or near 10.am. Because I knew if I missed the film it could be 3 or even 5 YEARS till another Beatles film was shown. No Beatles for 5 years Video recorders didn't come along in the UK till around the late 1970s and BOY they were FREAKING!! expensive. Around 700 English pounds, well over a thousand dollars, much more than a month's wages to me. But in 1979, the BBC Broadcast AHDN, Help!, Let It Be ( the holy grail of Beatles movies to me. Still is ) Yellow Sub, and Magical MT. So I had to bite the bullet and buy a video recorder to record all those films. i still have LIB on vhs, though have since transfered it to DVD a long time ago. This Christmas I'm getting Get Back on DVD.

I was very lucky. I saw A Hard Day's Night in its original version a few years ago. And at that time I didn't speak a word of English. But I still managed to follow the movie. I just found it on Dailymotion. That was where I saw it for the first time. I thought why not share it with others.

@littlewillow Did I mention here before ( can't remember) when they released Help! The 2 DVD "restored" version, we had a Help! Party at the City Barge pub where the Beatles filmed scenes for the Help! Movie. Cheekily we invited Victor Spinetti to our party. Victor appeared in nearly all the Beatles movies. We never thought he would actually come to our party until a black London taxicab appeared in the pub carpark. And this familiar elderly gentleman got out and came in the pub. It was Victor. He spent the evening at our party talking about his time of working with the Beatles. Great!!🥳

@njr I have to admit I didn't dislike the 70s too much also.
