There's a whole bunch of George songs that I esteem highly, I just never followed his career like I have the other 3: Something, Here Comes the Sun, Taxman, I Want to Tell You, I Need You, Savoy Truffle, For You Blue, Photograph, My Sweet Lord, and perhaps my favorite -- the least mentioned or appreciated of all: Sail Away Raymond. My sweet Lord, you forgot to mention While My Guitar Gently Weeps, which, imho, is his masterpiece!
P.S. Ringo got 1/2 writing credit for Photograph.A lot of people think that Eric Clapton did the guitar solo on WMGGWeeps, on his own. He didn't. He shared it with George.

P.S. I can't think of any more offhand. Now when I say I don't like, that's putting it a little too strongly. When I listen to While My Guitar Gently Weeps, I can appreciate the music and the lyrics and the singing etc. and it registers on my brain as "yeah that's a pretty good song", but it just doesn't electrify me like the ones that I really love, and in fact I haven't even bothered to listen to it in at least 20 years.
For me, George has never written a song I didn't like. I can't say that about Paul's songs. There are several songs I don't like from Paul. Temporary Secretary. Woman Oh Why. However Absurd. Old Siam Sir. There are probably more I can't remember.

Well, we must have different definitions of granny music. I listened to these four Lennon songs (I like a couple of them) but to me they don't fit as granny music. To me, the term is mostly about a genre, not about the theme or the lyrics or the sentiment. It's a musical genre that sounds like an old-timey big band on a cruise ship in the 1940s -- that kind of thing, which McCartney did quite a bit as we all know, with Honey Pie, When I'm 64, Your Mother Should Know, etc
I agree completely toris!
Another one John would have definitely called granny music is You Gave Me The Answer.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/You_Gave_Me_the_AnswerDefinitely, Nancy.... along with Listen to What the Man Said.

Holy Hanna! I even love it when tribute bands do it! I have a complete video of The Fab Four with Michael Amador as the â5th Beatleâ (he used to play George before Gavin Pring) playing the Eric Clapton lead. I was right on stage right behind a speaker! It was fantastic!!
For those of you who ARE fans of the song, Iâll try to post this iCloud link and see if it works. Worked at first for me, then didnât. Will try something else.Try this link and make sure sound is turned on.

In a village in Old Siam, sir, there's a lady who's lost her way.
In an effort to find a man, sir, she found herself in the old UK.
She waited 'round in Walthamstowe, she skated 'round in Scarborough.
She waited 'round in Walthamstowe, she skated 'round in Scarborough.
In a village in old east end, sir, she mea fellow who made her real.
Took her rushes to show, this man, sir,
He met her dad at the wedding meal.
In a letter from Old Siam, sir, came an awful tale of woe.
She decided the only answer was to get off a pile of dough.
She waited 'round in Walthamstowe, she skated 'round in Scarborough.
She waited 'round in Walthamstowe, she skated 'round in Scarborough.
When a relative told her man, sir, he directed her not to stay.

Walthamstowe, Scarborough...Yeah a terrible song if ever there was one. But Walthamstow itself isn't bad. Got a market. And Walthamstow village is like stepping into a time capsule.

@wandy Not true. George only played rhythm guitar on WMGGW. Clapton did the solo alone. Read this:

There isn't now, in modern English, but in the 16th century, there was. In olde England, and in Ye olde London Towne, they spelt words very strangely.

âIt was just your imagination running away with youâ
Nooooooo!!! Problem is, you read an account of something that happened in Beatles history, in one person's book, and somebody else reads another, different, account of the same thing, in somebody else's book. Now we weren't there, so we don't know what really happened. Also, somebody writes a book about the Beatles. They make a mistake, but the mistake stays in the book and the book gets published. Its now out there. Years later somebody else wants to write a book about the Beatles. So they do some research, by going through books sbout the Beatles. They find the book with the mistake in. They don't know its a mistake, and use that ( mistaken) information in THEIR book. And so it goes on and on

@njr Lol!! It's great seeing reactions to stuff us Brits have known about for years. "Good News"chocolates, have been around certainly since I was a kid, and probably before, and the Savoy Truffle was definitely in amongst them. Only a Beatle would write such a good song about toothache We are getting now, the same reaction from young Brits, when they hear John sing, "sticks a 10 Bob note up his nose"( Abbey Road ) everybody under 35 hasn't a clue what a 10 Bob note is, but us old timers DO!
