Whatever this is it won't be an improvement on the bootleggers. For over a decade almost the complete BBC recordings have been circulating, with most all the chat and most all the music that exists. Much more than will ever be released through Apple. Even the first BBC album was cobbled together. For instance there are many BETTER recordings both soundwise and performance wise of some of the selections that made it to that album, that for whatever reason were not chosen: the one that really stands out is Hippy Hippy Shake. There are many more. In fact the overall sound on the official BBC recordings was substandard, compared to the bootlegs!!! Now, as for the marketing. Early October: the BBC Volume 2 and a week later a new Howlett book. Will they clash with McCartney's new album? Will they clash with Mark Lewisohn's epic 1st installment? This is all very dumb sequencing or a stroke of genius. That looks like a very congested October/November period.

Most of the source material is from bootlegs themselves, as was the first BBC album. Yes, I too hope the sound is better, because on the first album -it was the bootlegs that had far superior sound! I know because I've got them all.

Agreed. I've had the complete BBC sessions on a 10 CD set for AGES, almost the last 15 years, so not too much interest for me. Howlett's BBC book and Lewisohn's book (both of which I have on preorder), are due to be released THE SAME DAY, at least here in the USA. Silly, in my view, although I'm glad to get both at once

I've played my Beatles @ The BBC CDs (the 1994 official release) more times than I can remember. I wonder if this collection will be as charming and awesomely musical.

Interesting as of 12:15pm EST - my FB link from the MCA FB post on August 10th with this photo was taken down. Perhaps enough of us hardcore fans broadcasted this pre-emptedly as it was announced on that page this would be coming out in Nov.

This is a bunch of bunk...nothing "new" has been discovered. EVERY session they ever did between 1962 and 1965, apart from maybe 20 tracks, has been available on bootleg for the last 20 years. In superior quality to the official release. I bought the first BBC release in 1994 but I haven't played those discs in probably 15 years since I got the bootleg set. I think this set will get the same treatment...I'll buy it for the packaging and file it away. Still it's nice that they're releasing something of interest to the general public!

Performances include 37 songs that are previously unreleased commercially, and fans will also hear 23 unreleased recordings of in-studio chatter between John, Paul, George, Ringo, and various radio hosts. -

^at this point, those 2 songs and the 27-minute Helter Skelter would be the only things I'd be REALLY interested in. The rest, I've already got on bootleg.
