Last night's show in DSM was unbeliveable! I wasn't sure what to expect, and everything i had imagined the show to be, was surpassed. Paul and friends played for nearly 3 hours to a sold-out crowd. Double-encore was fantastic. Equally fantastic was the stage and light show. I have never seen anything like it before at any concert. Absolutely unbelievable! The astounding Sir Paul took some time at the end of the show to Thank his many stage hands (140), sound guys and 'most importantly'...you! I'll take this moment to thank god, Liverpool and England for harvesting an unparalleled performer that is...Paul McCartney. Long live music! Long live the Beatles! Long live Paul McCartney! Thank YOU for putting on a show that my wife and i will be talking about for years to come! Come back anytime SIR PAUL! (and friends)

Definitely agreed! Loved the show and the tunes I'd never heard live before. Also enjoyed meeting up with the folks that were at the Spaghetti Works - Maccascruff, Maccatak, mspeel 007, scottycat. Sorry you missed us fiser! Anyway hope everyone enjoyed the show as much as I did. My only complaint was the merchandise lines - OMG - it took forever; however, I finally got the shirt I wanted and still got to my seat by 7:45

was the BEST Paul show I've EVER seen! I've seem him 30+ times over the years but the audience at this show was extra special!! The best shows I've found are those when megastars play in "smaller" cities. The audience responded incredibly to Paul and the entire show! Another example is Paul in Ames, Iowa in 1990--WOW!! Helter Skelter and I've Got a Feeling were awesome!! Another treat was my chance to meet several people from this site--mspeel, maccascruff and several others! Nothing approaches the feeling I get when I am with likeminded people! ALMOST better than sex! The DJ and Paul film were the worst parts of my evening! Why does Paul have to promote a film about himself??!! The Des Moines Register gave Paul a fabulous review and looking forward to Omaha in 2 days!! All the best PS--I did not let the drunken SOB in front of me ruin the show! He was asleep for 3/4 of the show and at those prices, he really must have a problem!!

Another fantastic show! I found the sound at this venue to be especially good. I could make out everything Macca said and sang very clearly. And the crowd was great! You could see the city was proud to be hosting the show, with the banners up all over downtown and not just outside the stadium. I'm sorry I didn't know about the Spaghetti Works meetup but I made the trip on the spur of the moment and had not checked this forum. I was wandering the downtown at that time looking for just such a place. I met some very friendly people but nobody mentioned SW. I met a couple from Chicago in the skywalk (Kaleidoscope?) for whom this was their 5th show of the tour (my 3rd). Did anyone else catch the soundcheck? You could hear it in the "will call" area, which was behind the stage.

Great night, wasn't it. I did the merchandise after the show and didn't leave the building until after midnight. Wouldn't have mattered though as the parking garage was still backed up to the floor where my car was. I got mspeel to her hotel and to my friends and we talked until 4 AM! My Paul Rocks Des Moines sign got to the big screen twice during Hey Jude! I thought Paul was fabulous and he sounded great. I also liked that he mentioned Bea's birthday today.

Speaking of signs, who had the "great nephew Drew" sign? That sure caught Paul's attention. It was at the driveup as well. lol

Man oh Man was that an awsome show!!!!! From start to finish I it was hands down the best show that I have ever seen. Period. I saw the Spaghetti Works later that night after the show, sorry I didn't get to meet up with anyone. I did however see a pink glowstick or two a couple of rows ahead but couldn't get up there to say hey. Sooo Hey to whoever had the glow sticks on the floor 1st section!!!! Hearing In Spite of All The Danger was great as was Flaming Pie!!! My friend that went with me said his favorite concerts go in this order 1. Pink Floyd '94 2. Robert Plant 3. Rolling Stones. 1/2 way through the show he leand over and asked me how much was left. I was horrified and thought he wanted to leave, I told him we were 1/2 way through it. He screamed at the top of his lungs "PAUL YOU ROCK!!!!!" He leaned over to me and said that this is the best concert he has ever seen and that is amazing because it wasn't over yet!! Great show Paul you rock as always!! Thanks for making another magical night for me!!! You found made another fan in my friend and stole him from the Stones!! way to go Paul. I hope everyone had at least 1/2 as much fun as I did. My voice is also pretty horse today, but it was worth it.

Hey By The way I did get my Husband's Album signed at the show. Made his life....

Great show....loved it....first time seeing Paul live....want to go to Dallas so bad, but I would have to have tickets in the first 5 rows if I go. Great arena. Didn't really like the sound, was kind of distorted at the back of the arena. The stage was great and so was the big screens and pyrotechnics. Love hearing all the pre-beatles songs. Set-list was great. Of course would love to hear more Beatles stuff, but that just me. The lines to get in wasn't too bad, as they went quick (got there at 7pm). The Merch booth was crazy. Got my shirt and lithograph at the end. So cool that the litho had the date of the show and city at the top. Was there only one merch booth? Over all great trip to Des Moines.

I loved the film....thought it was great. The show is his and about his music.....so a film about him isn't to much to hate. I just wish people in my section would have stood up during the show and not sit on the butts.

It was a great show. Well worth the money. having a hard time remembering specific things since it hasn't sunk in yet that I saw him. Could feel the heat off the flames on Live and Let Die. Singing Hey Jude was the highlight of the night for me since it's my fav song. In it I gave my little tribute to john by yelling the profanity that he has in the song. Anyone know of a bootleg of the show? Also curoious how much people spent at the merch tables. I think this was the best college loan money spent.

This was the first time my wife and I have seen Paul in concert. We were just to the left of the stage, which was great. We both said before the concert that for the price of tickets that this show would be the only time we would go and see him,but half through the show we both said that if he comes back to the Midwest we are going to see him again. Being a drummer myself I absolutely loved watching Abe on drums. Only complaint I had was I thought the miking of the drums and accoustics of the arena could be better.

Hey Uknow! Was it the Russian album (CHOBA B CCCP)?? I was watching thru binocs to see what and how many items Paul signed before he left. How VERY cool - one of my wildest dreams is to be close enough to get something signed . . .next time

Just got back from Des Moines... WOW what a great show. I was at Milwaukee earlier this week & this show was so, so much better. My mom & I have seen Paul together quite a few times & everything about this show was great. The acoustics were perfect & the crowd was really into it (well... I'd be on my feet dancing every second, so I have to put that into perspective with all the other types of people at a Macca show.) I also have to admit that I was disappointed at first with the setlist (a few more Wings...), but when I heard it all put together....there's a little something for everyone, isn't there??? I really wanted to thank Des Moines for making the experience too -- even the little things like the banners outside the stadium. And seeing Paul drive in to the stadium....then 15 minutes later back in the hotel room seeing Paul (and myself) on the local news was great. The news was about half Paul & half "everything else" later on that night during the 1000 news. (If anybody taped all the local coverage, I'd be willing to trade/pay for a copy of the tape!) Even the next day, Paul got front page coverage in the newspaper. I really, really am convinced the name McCartney will be right up there with Chopin, Mozart, etc. when time recounts all of history's musical geniuses. Thank you, Paul, for continuing to tour & let us hear your music live! Nicole in Illinois P.S. Paul said, before "Follow Me" something like, "I'd like to dedicate this next song to my wife & my daughter who's birthday is tomorrow."

Yes it was "CHOBA B CCCP",I was so worried I'd fling the album the wrong way and miss the stage.

Well, Andy and I just returned to Los Angeles from our little Des Moines adventure and I am absolutely OVERJOYED about the entire experience, from start to finish, that I hardly know where to begin!! As some of you already know, I wound up buying tickets to Des Moines out of sheer frustration from failing to be able to find ANY tickets to ANY of Paul's FOUR shows here in the Los Angeles/Anaheim area. DAMN that Ticketmaster!!! I was able to get 7th row floor seats and paid almost $100 less per ticket than I would've had to pay through TM!! Anyway, after buying the tickets, I almost decided to sell them, as I just couldn't see buying airfare, hotel, rental car and then having to take time away from work and finding caretakers for my pets. LOTS of details. . . but SOMETHING told me to go ahead and make the trip. I've never been more glad in my life that I went through with my plans!! I was able to meet up with many of you here and that added a whole other dimension to the experience. It's an absolute joy to share the love of the music and the lifetime experiences we've each had as fans of Paul and the Beatles. It's a connection unlike any other. Thanks to Jim (maccatak) for suggesting the SpaghettiWorks and for sharing your stories. Thanks to maccascruff for taking the photos of everyone. . . I can't wait to see them!!! It was great meeting Seuss and mspeel007 and others who came but don't post here on the board. It was fun to feel like a teenager again!! I was able to get all 3 of my signs read and acknowledged by Paul. Brian and Abe also read them and acknowledged them. We were sitting next to a couple who brought their 2 sons (ages 7 and 10) who already know the words to many of the Beatles songs. It was fun and heartwarming to watch a whole new generation growing up loving "our" music. I can't pick a favorite moment or song from the concert. There were so many! I loved it that so many people throughout the arena seemed to stand for most, if not all, of the entire show. That didn't happen at the shows I attended elsewhere back in 2002. I think the crowd in Des Moines was EXCEPTIONAL!! I think the band thought the same thing. I had a great time with mspeel in the bar at the Savery after the show. We closed the place. She's got a very interesting history!! Jim, we couldn't find the Quality Inn. . . we looked but in the cold night air, I couldn't think straight, plus I was still too keyed up with excitement, that we walked around the Arena and took photographs of anything with Paul's picture in it!! We must've looked like idiots. Who cares?? It was so much FUN!! I've already decided that the next time I want to get concert tickets, I'm going to see if the artist or band will be playing Des Moines. I will DEFINITELY be coming here again!! Last, and most imortantly, I want to say how NICE and FRIENDLY everyone was to us in Des Moines. We have never felt so welcome anywhere!!! You guys are the BEST!!!
