After the session, George Harrison advised on how to prevent Band Aid from turning into another financially questionable Concert for Bangladesh. Ure: The Concert [for Bangaldesh]. . .all of the money didn't get where it was meant to go. It was spent on overhead and ad men. So [Harrison's advice to Geldof] was, "Get yourselves good accountants." We have the same accountants today who [ensure] we don't spent a penny on anything. We've had no office, no secretaries. We begged, borrowed, and stole telephone lines, space, whatever we could. Read more: http://www.rollingstone.com/music/features/making-of-band-aid-20141125#ixzz3KCkXvntG

I trust NO charity anymore. For most of my life, I supported the MDA -- and then they ousted Jerry Lewis. And now the CEO is paying himself over half-a-million a year. That stupid Ice Bucket thing that people gravitated to like morons was a rip-off, as well. Only 27% of the proceeds went to ALS research. They're all corrupt. ALL of 'em. ________________________________________________ America's Worst Charities: http://www.tampabay.com/americas-worst-charities/ America's 50 worst charities rake in nearly $1 billion for corporate fundraisers: http://www.tampabay.com/topics/specials/worst-charities1.page ________________________________________________ I've seen the George Harrison interview on Dick Cavett's '70s talk-show, and it looks like he was suspicious of the handlers for the Concert For Bangladesh proceeds from the beginning. A damn shame that no good deed goes unpunished.

I would only say that this is a good site to visit before giving to any charity: http://www.charitynavigator.org They tell you how much of the money actually goes to the people who need it, rather than administrative costs and fundraising, etc.
