"He won't marry me till he meets you" https://twitter.com/tonyiadicicco https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Br1ES5uCMAIaTFy.jpg Smart man!
Good for them. Yet, I have to agree with Audi, how does this enhance a McCartney concert? And what does it have to do with it? I suspect a lot of people in Albany had special events in their lives this evening or this week, can they get on stage in front of 15,000 people to act it out? I GET having regular people get on stage to show he is a man of the people. But I also believe the concert stage is a magical place where people pay to watch an artist work their magic. Having people come up on stage to propose, or dance, or sing, or get a body part autographed, kind of diminishes that for me. Just my opinion. I wish the engaged couple many blessings!
And likewise the tatoos... I suppose it gives Paul a chance for a breather...
don't be jealous
It is not jealousy on my part. I don't think these hi jinks have a place in a big show in an arena or a stadium. Maybe a bar gig. I understand most people disagree with me and will say "That was so cool!" But to me, it just does not have a place at a big rock show. How about doing it backstage ten minutes before the show or after? That's cool. I'm not jealous of that. I may be wrong, but I don't think Mick and Keith do these things, nor Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend. Even McCartney didn't do these things 1993 and back.
My take on it is if Paul wants to make somebody's day, month, year then let him! It's his concert he can do whatever he wants.
I never said he couldn't do whatever he wants. Of course he can. But as a fan, I can say, "Hmmmm....that doesn't work for me. I don't like that."

He could spend those few minutes singing another song!
But I bet you wouldn't say no if you somehow got asked up on stage to meet him though right?

That's the point. Why is he even having audience members come on stage? Of course a McCartney fan wants to meet him! I would love to. On the street. Back stage. At a record store meet and greet. But why on earth would I be on his stage? That is not cool, IMO. It is very lucky for those who have? Sure. Does it have anything to do with the show? No. It like the American Idol of being a fan! Whoever writes the biggest, loudest sign gets to go onstage. Never mind whether they have any business being there. But it is his stage. He can do whatever he wants there!

It was a good show. Crowd certainly enjoyed it and I bet Paul was glad to get it over with.
-
soundchecks fine...it's casual and fun. concert situation nuh...sucks the oxygen right out of the place. (and yes I have been to concerts where people have got on stage - and yes, I have met Paul...off stage) that's just my take...

What do you mean "bet Paul was glad to get it over with?"
-
I'll admit I'm sad that Appreciate wasn't played but glad at least On My Way to Work made it in.
-
I just think it is a very nice change to ask a couple onstage for a marriage proposal. It is a LOVE thing. As for me, I have no desire to ever get onstage with Paul and don't have or intend on ever getting a tattoo of any type in my lifetime. Not my style. To each his own. I just thought it was very sweet and romantic.
