Collecting Beatles Memorabilia!

Riggers I have to wait for my friend to take pictures and scan them. As soon as I can get him over here I'll get them posted!

GYPSYGIRL:
It just floors me sometimes at the prices things go for at auction. Some people must be quite wealthy to buy the stuff or are paying off plastic for a great many years. Or selling their first born child! Various Beatles Memorabilia that I own from many moons ago, I could no way afford to buy at today's prices. And when you have kids who have decided to follow in your footsteps & they start collecting their own Beatles memorabilia & ask, "Why don't you buy that for MY BEATLES COLLECTION?", they seem to think it's a matter of charging it if you don't have the cash!
you ain't kidding.. ...you should have seen the outcome of the last Beatles memorabilia auction!!! ...and every year the prices go thru the roof in value....so it makes it harder for the collector to purchase stuff....i'm glad i have what i have today.

I guess this starts my autograph collection. Last week I picked up the framed pictures I ordered from B Bernstein's exhibition, they are hand signed by Paul McCartney and Bill Bernstein. I ordered 2. One is magic piano which is Paul sitting at his piano playing, with the Roman colliseum in the backround, and the other is a collage. They came out great!!
yes i also would LOVE to see it...whenever you get the chance to post it.

Steve....i read that ALL PRINTS of the Bill Berstein collection were hand-signed by both Paul McCartney & Bill Bernstein! ...i can't seem to find his collection on-line; however, I did find an interview on youtube where Bill Berstein states this! I also read this: "The Morrison Hotel Gallery is proud to present the North American debut of the photography of Bill Bernstein. This premiere exhibit features the photographs that documented the 2002 ? 2003 McCartney World Tour, both behind the scenes and during live performances, and are hand signed by both Bernstein and McCartney." WOW, forget64...what an awesome start for a collection!!!! ...i can't imagine what these prints went for????? ....would you like to share this and feed my curiosity! yes....this is a start of a habit which you will find hard to break!. ...i'm still living and feeling it!

RIGGERS I saw Mr. Bernstein's pictures exhibited at the Morrison Hotel Gallery in Manhattan. I was extremely lucky, my family and I were invited to the pre show exhibition.I wrote a posting about the photographs and meeting Bill Bernstein as well as Sid Bernstein there (also got their autographs). If you are interested the posting is under ROCK SHOW and titled Morrison Hotel Gallery EACH ONE BELIEVENG BY BILL BERNSTEIN (POSTED 3-23-07). I don't know where you can find the collection online but if you called the Gallery they might be able to help you (212-941-8770). Most of the pictures are in the hard covered book that was on sale at the 2005 concerts. It is titled Paul McCartney On Stage, Off Stage, and Backstage. They are hand signed by both Mr. Bernstein and Mr. McCartney. Bill Bernstein was nice enough to let me contact him with dates of shows I attended with my son so he could see if he had any pictures of us. He had a great shot of the 2 of us at Paul's concert in Philadelphia in first row that he sent me. BEATLEMANIAC The Magic Piano photograph (18"x24" with a 4" white border framed) and the collage (24"x36" with a 4" white border framed) were about $1800.00 each. Weren't you the one who saw my son at one of Ringo's concerts? How did you win Paul's jacket? That's a great collection of autographs you have!! I'm going to need some advice about purchasing some other autographs. I don't want to put myself in a position of questioning the authenticity of anything that I might buy.

wow!!! ...like i said, what an awesome addition to your collection!!!. ..a collection which will grow throughout the years! ...and yes i mentioned awhile ago that i saw you and your son...who was wearing a sgt. pepper's outfit at ringo's concert!!!...you guys were further up than I....as a matter of fact, i believe i saw the both of you going up in the private area where the stage was!!! Now regarding Paul's Tour Jacket which I won.. ...the auction was fom Bette Midler's Halluween Auction for the New York Restoration Project!.. www.charitybuzz.com ..she advertises every year and there is also a party with stars galore!!!...they show pictures of her party in the news/post/times! ...Many people contributed shows, memorabilia, a day with the star, etc.....and Paul contributed one of his tour jackets for this charity!... it was for www.nyrp.org I won the auction October 2005 and at that time they listed in the auction description it was a jacket worn by Paul McCartney from one of his last US tours ....looking on-line i found these pictures of him wearing the jacket. my jacket.. paul wearing the jacket.. again here...but the lighting isn't as bright!..however, this is the picture they showed for the auction. and then again here... This was a part of the Press Release: New York Restoration Project Celebrates it's 10th Anniversary and Founder Bette Midler's 60th Birthday with an Online Auction featuring lots donated by Martha Stewart, Elton John, Sting, Paul McCartney, Robert DeNiro, Tiger Woods, and Dozens More Celebrites. Now it turns out someone here posted the site auction a few years ago in a thread!!!...i waited until a few days before the bidding ended to register and try to win it!!....it turns out a member HERE was also bidding on it and his bid was about 7 minutes before the bidding ended and i wound up paying an additional $1,000 for the jacket!!!...when i posted on the board that I won the jacket, the member here told me he didn't know it was me who was bidding on the jacket...otherwise he would have stopped bidding!!!...but that's OK cuz according to Frank Caiazzo, he told me I got it for a GREAT price!!!...i wound up paying $2,775 for the jacket..($2,750 for the winning bid & $25 shipping) ....I didn't have to pay tax or a buyers premium for this wonderful item!...thank goodness for that! and with respect to my autographs....i didn't start collecting until i met ringo and got his autograph...and that was 4 years ago.. .so it's 4 years of collecting Beatles autographs! ...most of my autographs come from legitimate auction houses...however every so often i would see a deal on ebay! ...however, i make sure's it's authentic by either it already coming from a COA from Frank or Perry; or contacting them for their expertise and paying a fee. ...which reminds me...i need to try to find room on my autograph wall so that i can update it! ....i still have 4 (possibly 5) autographs that aren't on my wall yet...cuz i can't find the room....i figured i'm going to have to make another wall....possibly where paul's tour jacket is.
