My bags are packed where and when are we going?
Sept 20th, be there
Well, I’ll throw a little fuel on this fire..... remember the actual words to “Rock Show”.
If there's rock show at the Concertgebow
You're got long hair at the Madison Square
They've got Rock And Roll at the Hollywood Bowl
We'll be…Well, the Hollywood Bowl is already booked....
Um, yeah... Paul Simon at MSG on 9/20/18.... never mind
Well, there's silly willy in Philly?

Bruno Mars is booked at the Wells Fargo on 9-20. Phillies play the night before at Citizens Bank Park and the Eagles have a home game that Sunday so I guess these rule Philly out for this date

If Sept. 20th is the first night of the tour, then that rules out him as the grand opener for the Milwaukee arena, since there are shows already booked there after Sept. 13th.

Milwaukee
-
Scotia Bank Arena - Toronto

See above, Sept. 20th rules out Milwaukee if it's the start of the tour...

sept 20th be there......
can merely mean, be there or be square.....
it certainly sounds like the start of the limited number of dates in 2018
we know its Austin on 10/5 and 10/12

I don’t see anything scheduled for Sept. 20th at either Philips Arena or Mercedes Benz stadium in Atlanta.

OK, because I have nothing better to do on this Monday evening, here is a list of arenas in major North American cities that are currently showing as free on September 20th!
The Forum, L.A
MGM Grand, Las Vegas
T - Mobile Arena, Las Vegas (perhaps less likely as the i heart festival starts the next day so they will probalby be using it for setup / rehearsal etc)
Talking Stick Arena, Phoenix
Gila River Arena, Phoenix
American Airlines Arena, Miami
FedEx Forum, Memphis
Bridgestone Arena, Nashville
TD Garden, Boston
ScotiaBank Arena, Toronto
Bell Center, Montreal
Rogers Arena, Vancouver
United Center, Chicago
-------------------------------------
The list insn't exhaustive and some places are unlikely due to visits last year, but it gives an idea as to where the tour start could be.
If I had to guess I would go with LA, Vegas or Phoenix!
Can't wait for the annoucement!

First...who said anything about September 20th being the tour opener? That one date was just dropped in like a bomb with no real further explanation. Also, don't limit this run to indoor dates. Paul has played stadiums in southern states well into November as the weather permits. The possibilities are really endless. I would say we can rule out almost any cities that were visited last year for full length concerts this fall. That's probably the only certainty we have.

Well, I was just having a bit of fun WixRocks, and I am fully aware that Paul has played Stadiums in the U.S. before during the potential window for these new tour dates. I thought I'd just keep the list to arenas though, partly for the sake of keeping it relatively short.
You're right that Bob G dropped the 20th Sept date out of the blue, but it would suggest that that date is the start of the tour, and not a random date several shows in.

Thanks for your research Andy! I'm sure we'll get answers just another day

The Paul McCartney live experience is everything any music lover could ever want from a rock show: Nearly three hours nightly of the greatest moments from the last 50 years of music, dozens of songs from Paul’s solo, Wings and of course Beatles catalogues that have formed the soundtracks of our lives. Paul and his band have played an unparalleled range of venues and locations throughout the Americas, the UK, Europe, Japan, Australia, New Zealand and all points between: outside the Coliseum in Rome, Moscow’s Red Square, Buckingham Palace, The White House, a free show in Mexico for over 400,000 people, the last ever show at San Francisco’s Candlestick Park where The Beatles played their final concert in 1966, a 2016 week in the California desert that included two headline sets at the historic Desert Trip festival and a jam-packed club gig for a few hundred lucky fans at Pappy & Harriet’s Pioneertown Palace, and even one performance broadcast live into Space! Featuring Paul’s band of the last 15+ years – Paul “Wix” Wickens (keyboards), Brian Ray (bass/guitar), Rusty Anderson (guitar) and Abe Laboriel Jr (drums) –and constantly upgraded state of the art audio and video technology that ensures an unforgettable experience from every seat in the house, a Paul McCartney concert is never anything short of life-changing.
