Such scathing Paul put downs at a Beatles group I unwittingly joined if he's such a "jerk" then how did he write a number of very compassionate songs : Answer: he's not a jerk

Exactly. It's funny that some people want to tear apart the entire contributions of Paul as not being on par with the rest of Beatles. I tend to think these people can't hear or appreciate great music but that's just me

Which Beatles group? I also wonder how can he have been married to Linda for 29 years is he's such a jerk? Does that group you joined call him a jerk?

I believe she's referring to this forum. I don't know who called him a jerk. Maybe she just uses that work as a substitute for something else. Susy?

No, she says Beatles group. This is a Paul forum that happens to have a Yesterday section.

That's correct, it's one of the Beatles forums on Facebook, and it was really only one guy who dislikes Paul a lot who's the main vehement critic there. He trotted out the tired old anecdote about John's calling Paul's work "granny music" for one thing--so erroneous, as Paul features such a variety of styles. He favors John and George songs to the expense of appreciating Paul's. That's his right (but I stood up for Paul there and refuted his every point). He tore into Paul for wanting the song credits reversed on some songs to "McCartney/Lennon." I pointed out his songs are his babies. He knows which ones he had much more of a hand in composing.

That is exactly why I started this thread. I've seen alot of it myself. Even Life magazine when the Beatles anthology came out said the songs yesterday , Michelle and Elanor Rigby sound hopelessly mushy today but said something like especially when John Lennon dominates something about songs like strawberry Fields Forever,I am The Walrus and A Day In The Life being classics or standing the test of time etc. I don't know what it exactly said but it did say about those songs sounding mushy. Paul wrote Helter Skelter so they can't call him completely mushy.
