It's cool that there are changes from one night to the next in the same city. That's a reward to the fans who make the effort to attend both shows, give them something different.
Yeah...it's a shame the changes weren't more exciting though!

I agree..there should be a small bone huh!!!

I think McCartney is reaching critical mass with the songs he can or is willing to change out or learn. I mean, when he starts doing more obscure things like ALL TOGETHER NOW, MR. KITE, or YOUR MOTHER SHOULD KNOW, what else is there?? I would LOVE it if he did OH DARLING! or even MAXWELL'S SILVER HAMMER, but it looks like those ones may never get the live treatment. For the life of me, WHY won't McCartney rotate some of the sound check songs into the set list?? It's not like the band doesn't know the songs. Each night should be slightly different, just by putting some of those in, three a night rotated until he does them all, then start over again. I think songs like HONEY DON'T, TWENTY FLIGHT ROCK, and RAM ON would be a welcome break from what people are reading every night here.

What do you expect? The complete "Press To Play" album performed in order? At least "I Saw Her Standing There" is rarely performed these days, so it's nice to listen to it in concert.

I think it wasn't until the Up and Coming Tour he made any changes at all if he played the same city two or three nights. On the US Tour he didn't change a single song, and the audience still loved it! In fact I think that holds for every tour he's ever done until 2010.

That's correct, Randy! Don't we love it when Paul goes out of the script a bit and surprises us with something different?
-
You know the old saying, "You can't please all of the people all of the time." Those of us here have to remember that a good many of the people attending Paul's shows may be seeing him for the first time or bringing their kids or grandkids who have never seen and heard Paul live in concert before. For them, I would think anything Paul sings will be the thrill of a lifetime! The DC concert will be my 10th and I really don't care if he changes the set list or not. Loved the one from the Brazil shows but I'll be happy no matter what. I still have to pinch myself at every single show and realize that I am really there seeing Paul IN PERSON and hearing the songs that I have loved for so many years from his mouth right into my ears. Magical! You will get no complaints from me. Those of you in Orlando, have the time of your life!

NO HOPE OF DELIVERANCE!! REPLACED WITH "JUST SEEN A FACE"
-
Does anyone know how "Hope" went down with the first night audience? Just wondering why he replaced it with a Beatles song, rather than another solo song. Was he disappointed with the reaction to "Hope" and figured " need another Beatles song"?

He's been known in the past few years to cycle two songs from night to night. It looks like HOD is one of the songs that's going to get cycled. (Note that I'm not even suggesting that it's been dropped. Nope. Fingers in my ears. La la la, I can't hear anyone who is going to say he's dropped it. La la la...)
-
Yeah, but why with another Beatles song? And not even a "new" one?

You think I have insight into or control over his setlist? I'm flattered! In all seriousness, Paul isn't known for having any rhyme or reason in his recent setlists. Look at "Being For The Benefit Of Mr. Kite" as Exhibit A.
-
Yeah, I know...I'm not really trying to figure it out. I'm just babbling because I so want to see and hear "Hope." Plus, it would be a nice "new" one for people I'm going with who have never heard it, rather than a song they heard at a previous show. Oh, well...I'll be happy with whatever, of course.

I'll be happy when HOD reappears.

Other than me practically passing out when I saw Abe grab the bass and I knew there was "hope," I think the audience despite maybe not being overily familiar with song did get into it and were dancing along! But don't worry, Paul saw me singing along. We sang it together

Glad to hear it! It is that kind of song.
