There definitely needs to be a photo history book with accurate dates! I would definitely buy that book!!! It would be really cool.
I would assume that most authors think that their dates are correct & accurate.
Is there a photo history book that you could recommend Oobu? I would probably be most interested in a Paul McCartney Photo History. I guess there would have to be something with over 1,000 photos to be decent history wise. Thanks! Somehow I imagine Nancy having a very orderly and well notated set of photos, Kestrel as well.
I keep seeing Beatles books with a lot of the same info or the pictures are not well identified.
My photos are labeled/titled by exact date (if known) or year in my Photobucket account. There is also a place for a description if you want to add the location or names of other people in the photo. When I'm unsure of the year, I just write "circa" and the year I think it is. As of today, I have 2429 Beatles, Paul (most of him), John, George, Ringo or Beatles-related photos.
Off the top of my head I can't recall any specific Beatles or Paul photo history books, but you'd think that would be a good idea for a book. Kestrel, you want to jump on that?

It can be frustrating when even in 'official' book photos are incorrectly dated. The classic example is the one with John and Paul sitting together which Linda identified as them working on the 'Abbey Road' medley (1969) album when it actually dates from October 1968 when they were working on the sequencing of the 'White album'.
I know! That was such a glaring error! Just by looking at them (no beard on John, Paul with shorter hair) you could tell it was definitely not during the Abbey Road sessions!

I knew you had to have some really great organized system Nancy! Well if you make a cool pictoral history book, you can sign me up. I bet there are a lot of people who would love something like that! You could have a BeaTles book and then continuing books for each BeaTle ( Starting with Paul first)!!!

For a Beatles pictorial book, I would have to have Kestrel and this guy I know on FB, Matt Padden, involved. Matt lives near York, England. You can show him any Beatles photo and he will know (or find out quickly) the date and location. Kestrel of course is great too and also lives in the U.K.
It's a bit late in my life to take on such a huge project. Like Mark Lewisohn should have started his Beatles bio about 20 years earlier - he might have finished all 3 parts by now. I still can't believe this year will be 8 years since part 1 came out and no part 2 yet!

I'm currently reading (for the third time) the extended edition at the moment. I totally agree that its a great shame that Mark didn't start a lot earlier as a lot of potential sources of material would have died before he got to them. I think 2023 is the latest predicted year of publication although part 3 should be out in a lot less time than has passed since part 1 was published.
For anyone interrested in Beatles pictorial books, my personal favourite is 'Looking Through You', which not only has beautifully produced rare photographs but detailed and accurate information to back them up.

This is cropped from a larger photo that shows Mary and Stella with at least one of them with their head on the table. It was taken sometime after Linda died. Does anyone have a copy of it?

I THINK the full picture may be in one of the photo books I have. I can look tomorrow and if it's in there I'll take a scan of it and post if nobody else has already posted by the time I'm able to get back on.

Picture was taken by Linda!
