I read the surprising claim on the Net tonight that Paul wrote "Back in the USSR" for "Twiggy's planned musical invasion of Russia that never came to be." That rockin' rave up song doesn't remind me at all of Twiggy! Now I'm wondering like the devil if this is true. And don't know how to find out for sure. Probably should automatically assume that claim is bananas. (?) Also read Paul wrote "Gotta Sing, Gotta Dance" for a "planned Gene Kelly-esque Twiggy movie that never came to fruition." I never associated 60's Swingin' London top model Twiggy with fantastic singing and dancing abilities. I've seen pix of her hanging out at the Beatles' recording sessions. Macca must have been quite taken with her? Did she ever get "taken" by him (who didn't?) oops, am catty tonight, but have read things by people speculating about Paul and Mary Hopkin, so maybe my claws didn't really come out all that sharp and far ops:

Never heard anything for sure about Paul and Twiggy or Mary Hopkin "hooking up" but nothing would surprise me about Macca in the '60's!

"I never associated 60's Swingin' London top model Twiggy with fantastic singing and dancing abilities. " Actually, Twiggy received Tony nomination (1983) for Best Performance By Actress In A Musical" for "My One And Only" which also starred Tommy Tune.

          Maybe I'm amazed !!

The Twig didn't have much of a figure, that's for sure. But the Paulster still might have found her attractive, she being female Anything in a 60's mod (mini) skirt I even read he got it on with Yoko (just once probably, if then!) before she got up with John. Now that's a hard one to "twig" oh no another bad pun, I must be "pun"ished

She'd be a plus size model now.

Not quite, but good joke. She looks pretty good for 65: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/03/16/twiggy-ageism-fashion-_n_6879012.html

She looks pretty... Lulu is another who looks real good. Doesn't seem to have changed much at all.

OT, but Lulu was with the group that was with Paul at the Bag 'O Nails May 15, 1967 when he met Linda, but you probably knew that.

No, I didn't know that, interesting--Lulu can really sing, tears it up...saw a cute pic of John and Paul seated on a sofa, with Lulu in little white go go boots and mini dress, in the middle. I ordered Lulu's autobiography from eBay...she said she got so tired of being a pop star ! Can you imagine? It wasn't exactly working on a chain gang or in a factory...she tired of all the concerts, appearances, interviews with the press, fittings for costumes, being in hair and makeup for hours, catering to fans and the like. Look like fun to me Some of its trappings.
