Blue Jay Way vs. It's All Too Much
George wrote both of these songs around the same time, but chose to put Blue Jay Way on Magical Mystery Tour and left It's All Too Much to the trash can that was the Yellow Submarine LP. To my ears anyway, It's All Too Much is the far superior song - musically & lyrically and would have made MMT a better album than it already is!

Blue Jay Way fit the trippy MMT better, though. I do really like It's All Too Much, don't get me wrong!

Both "Blue Jay Way" and "It's All Too Much" are great George Harrison compositions. In my opinion, I really believe that "Blue Jay Way" would have fit perfectly in YELLOW SUBMARINE. I also believe that "It's All Too Much" would have blended well with MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR.

While you might consider the Yellow Submarine soundtrack a "trash can," the movie was a big success, both with critics and at the box office. Millions of people heard the song when they saw the film.

I think Blue Jay Way and It's All Too Much should both have been included in Magical Mystery Tour. It's All Too Much would have been a perfect song to play in MMT while Paul and Miss Wendy (The Tour Guide) were walking in a field or something, lol. It fit part of the story.
