As most of you probably knew or heard, this past week marked the 45th anniversary of the 'Get Back/Let It Be' rooftop concert... My question to you is looking back in hindsight, can you imagine being one of the members of the police who 'broke up the party' and hence, the last ever live Beatles performance...wonder if their perspective of what they did has changed over time

Some of the young ones probably regret what they had to do. The older ones are probably dead by now!

Who? I thought it was Olivia who was opposed to it.

Yes, I think they mostly "put on a show" of breaking it up. Ringo seemed disappointed in the Anthology that they weren't more aggressive!

It is quite amazing that impromptu performance was the last time The Beatles, the biggest group of all time, would be heard live (or actually seen by the keen people who climbed onto the rooftops) by the public. No farewell tour or even a proper concert. At least it was captured on film.

Listen to the song they sing,
                  Awakening

IMO - I think sometimes it gets overlooked how great Lennon/McCartney sounded together vocally due to to their great songwriting ability.

                        Maybe I'm amazed !!
