Shoot, I can't remember! Maybe it's not out yet. When I last saw him in early 2012 on the Beatles cruise, he was talking about it. I'll message him on FB and find out.

I did read an interview with him from the other day that said he was working on a new book, "Musical Mystery Tours" but that it wasn't done yet. Is that the one you're referring to?

That sounds like it!

Northern Songs ---> my book review Here's my latest review of a book detailing the "True Story of the Beatles' Song Publishing Empire." http://rnrchemist.blogspot.com/2014/01/book-review-northern-songs-true-story.html Basically, a chronicle of how they got duped out of their copyrights and what's happened, legally and financially, from 1963 to the present (well, 2007 when the book came out). Overall a very good and interesting read, mainly for the hardcore fan. Anyone here read it?

It's sad what they were receiving in royalties---after taxes. Blame Brian Epstein. Paul McCartney still makes 14% off of "Yesterday" to this day---before taxes. Yoko and the Lennon sons have HALF THE RIGHTS back because of a copyright law where the heir(s) of the deceased songwriter(s) receives back 25% of the publishing rights. Paul will get his rights back with Yoko in 2018, yearly, until 2026. Lennon (Ono)/McCartney will own 100%.

Here's my review of the new book "Paul McCartney Recording Sessions 1969-2013." An excellent book! http://rnrchemist.blogspot.com/2014/01/book-review-paul-mccartney-recording.html There's a ton of new info on here...an excellent book. I highly recommend for any Paul fan (obviously, that's all of us on here!).

In trying to find where to buy it, I found the examiner.com article, which has a link that's supposed to go to a website with samples of the book, but instead it goes straight to the amazon.co.uk page where you can order it, and apparently it's not out yet, and not coming out in the US?

Nice review DrBeatle. It seems its also been picking up positive reviews on Amazon as well. To cut a short story shorter.....I've just ordered a copy.

Thanks, sounds interesting. IMO - I think I would probably pick it up to read from time to time, does not seem like a book to just read all the way thru.

^Kestrel, thanks! You'll love it, it's really great. I learned a ton, and not to boast but it's hard for most new books on anything Beatles related to do that (as I'm sure is the case for most of us here). Exhaustively researched, too. And favoritething, yes, Amazon.co.uk is the only place to get it as far as I know. Well worth it though.

I think you can do both...I've read it front to back but you can also then pick it up to read about a particular song...in that way it's very similar to the two books I published on Blur, so it seems to be a niche that definitely has some promise

There are no plans for it in the U.S. The UK is your best option.

The Beatles in Cleveland...a cool little book about their two shows there (in 1964 and 1966), both of which had crowd riots and stage invasions! http://rnrchemist.blogspot.com/2014/06/book-review-beatles-in-cleveland.html

http://rnrchemist.blogspot.com/2014/08/book-review-fab-intimate-life-of-paul.html Not a perfect book, but damn good and probably the best I've read on him as an overall biography of his life. Some things about it annoyed me and there were some inaccuracies, but overall it was quite good. Anyone here read it? Thoughts?
