The Eggman67:
One positive comment: the new stage, video's etc. looked great! And by the way, the show lasted only 2 hours and 20 minutes in total, which is much shorter than before. Was this also the case at the first concerts of this tour?
Was the setlist the same? Did they sing everything really fast? haha. They must have cut something out.

No changes in the setlist, so it must have been shorter since the start of this tour... Which I can understand considering his age...

no we didn't really miss a song from this standard setlist . By the way still writing a long detail report in german. After finishing it I'll post the main points here. The Eggman67 has absolutly right in the case of the songs till "My valentime" the acoustic was nearly painful because it was simply too loud especially the bass drums... "Save us" and "Letting go" weren't able to enjoy. on the other side my video files sounds fine... By the way the Rusty solo was OK in Row 8. More later!

Paul appeared on stage at about 8.15 and said "see you next time" at 10.50. So the gig has lasted 2h35.

Was he that early??? Didn't realise that, I thought he started at 20.30... So in that case, I must have been wrong...

The Eggman67:
To be honest, not really a great concert. Not because of Paul but due to the accoustics in the Arena, which was really, really bad... For example, I couldn't hear Rusty's solo during My Valentine, Paul was sometimes unaudible and from time to time it was just a wall of sound of which you couldn't recognise any melody... Never ever gonna attend a concert in this arena again...
I totally agree, the acoustic was a disaster. I was on the floor and the sound came from everywhere. It was a mix of noise.

IMO the show lasted 2 hours and 30 minutes. It started at 20.20 and stopped at 22.50.

20.15 is alright. my videofiles proves it. The first file has time code 20:17 By the way just now read on facebook that the esprit arena had already terrible sound in the past...

I agree. We were on the tribune, first row but sound was everywhere. Or sometimes it wasn't there at all, depends on how you see it During Rusty's solo all we could hear was Paul's piano....and really loud. Such a shame. We had people sitting next to us, who were going for the first time and they weren't impressed.

Did he bring someone on stage after Yesterday?

Yes, a mother and daughter. The mother had a sign saying something like "My daughter's too young to get a tattoo, so please sign her drawing instead", which Paul did.

audi:
It boggles the mind that Paul McCartney continually avoids performing "Hope Of Deliverance" in the country where it was the biggest hit.
It's just nuts. They all know it. His voice could handle it. It was a massive hit. It would shake up a quite stale setlist. It just does not make any sense.
______________________________________________________ Audi and Robert, Couldn't agree with you guys more. The total setlist (and lack of changes) is the main reason that I will not go to this tour when it hits the USA (Northeast shows). I have family in both Philadelphia and Boston but I have seen Paul about 10 times. I've loved his shows (between 2002 and 2011) because he had numerous changes and lots of songs I had never heard from the previous shows (Beatles and Wings) Problem is that now he is just reshuffling. Another disappointment is that his concerts show no creativity. As Audi says about Hope of Deliverance..."it boggles the mind" that he wouldn't play it the song where it was a big hit. (Germany). It just seems that he just flies into the city of the show (independent of the band) and sings and plays the same songs by rote. You would think he would get tired of it (let alone his Band) As we've all said, it good for the 1st timers and I'm happy for them. I guess that people like us (hardcore fans0 who have seen him multiple times and "still" go to the shows must have lots of discretionary money. I'm retired so I have to be careful how I spend it. Yes, I would make it happen if there was more incentive but there just isn't.
I am retired also and do not have lots of discretionary money HOWEVER I plan to go to two shows this summer with center 5th row seats. Reason is I never had seats that close to the stage before. Sure, I need home improvements but I want two unforgettable memories.

Sorry to hear that all of you. You pay the big bucks and travel, Paul's crew and Pab should have had that under control. Btw...looking at the clips was it more a rectangular or box shape venue?

Football stadium. I guess cut in half - stage at middle of the field - due to the ticket sales, so still very wide but not that long any more?

Nope, Hi Hi Hi was back in! ð???

It was a big fun, the "Hotel experience", I felt like in the sixties, a big Beatlemania party. The concert was fun as well, managed to be in the front and love and fun all around me:-) the sound really was not as good as normal, must have been even worse on the tier. my highlights: Letting go, HiHiHi, FourFiveSeconds, In spite of all the danger, Here there and everywhere and as always Band on the Run, Let me roll it and the final.
