Jen, a cold is a three part process and the mistake most people make is wanting only one thing. First: Killing the infection Second: boosting the immune system Third: dealing with each and every symptom. Coughing, congestion, depends on what you got. I can give things for you to look up for each of these if you'd like.

The third is what I care most about WHEN I'm sick, but I should probably do the first two now.

Besides, vegans are low in b12
that is a myth that has been smashed to bits countless times educate yourself (if you and anyone else here dares) http://thebananagirl.com/b12-myth-veganb12-deficiencies.php http://www.naturalnews.com/029531_vitamin_B12_vegan.html https://www.vegsoc.org/B12 http://www.vegansociety.com/lifestyle/nutrition/b12.aspx and whatever else nonsense you're trying to say about vegans' health is just that - nonsense, because thousands of vegans if they were able to post on here would passionately refute all the crap you are saying from personal health experience, including mine. 'you' in your 'stint as a vegan' or the 'vegans you knew' perhaps just didn't 'do it right'
Rahil, i was actually very healthy as a vegan. I just didn't like their attitudes. It's a turnoff. still is. (I mean, do you ever convince anybody? and this is not the vegan debate thread. ) plus, most of the vegans I know get their b12 from yeast. yeah, eating a lot of that is a high allergen.

simplyrahil:
the only fanatics are those who against all good information and against all the exposure of abuse and murder of innocent animals and against all good info about ill health from consuming such death will STILL DO SO. THAT is fanaticism.
well, at least you and Suzy agree on what is fanaticism. but she's got a point, man. Listen to it, maybe.

this nonsense about 'their attitudes' as an excuse to stop being vegan (if you ever really were to begin with) is again, really lame. the reason is the animals' lives, so if one says one finds 'abuse evil' then one would never allow some 'attitudes' of others to suddenly make one not be vegan again. the animals didn't do one anything. why spite them?

It's hardly lame as it's legitimate and beautifully illustrated
-
And Rahil, another rule of debate is: He who attacks one personally, has no argument to fuel his cause. It's what one resorts to when they run out of arguments.
-
you are the one who has no argument excuses 'their attitudes' as an excuse to stop being vegan give no valid argument for returning to eating animals or drinking of their secretions. the reason one should be vegan is because of the animals' lives, so if one says one finds 'abuse evil' then one would never allow some 'attitudes' of others to suddenly make one not be vegan again. you really have no argument, especially when it comes to trying to use some not getting along with people as a 'reason' to not again fund animal abuse and murder. really not logical.
-
Rahil, I have plenty and they're all valid. One: You hijacked this thread and it isn't even about veganism. case in point.
-
still not valid even on the other thread you gave the same lame excuses you have not yet given a valid reason apart from how some people made you supposedly feel NOTHING at all about those who at the heart of this matter - THE ANIMALS
-
I can tell you why some vegans you've been attacking don't act like you towards other people who don't share their vegan views. They like having friends. "The mark of a immature man is that he wants to die n0bely for a cause. The mark of a mature man is that he wants to live humbly for one." JD Salinger. Catcher in the Rye. This is not a veg thread. Now tell me, have you ever convinced anyone, ANYONE to change their lives with your tactics? Nope. "The mark of an insane man is that he will keep performing the same action over and over again but keep expecting to yield a different result." Albert Einstein (Who was a vegetarian).
-
excuses, shmexcuses and the word is 'nobly' (add that to the ever-repeated 'then' for 'than' ) and what would you know about 'nobly' - you constantly make this lame excuse about who made you feel how 'so that is why i started back eating animals'. still not valid. and not noble in any way. and a pretty insane excuse to boot. and what would you know about 'humbly'. you constantly arrogantly make these excuses for continuing to exert your selfishness upon the lives of animals by not being vegan (all because someone spoke to you funny oh so long ago. boo hoo.) that is far from humble. those who are at the heart of this matter are who matter - THE ANIMALS as for 'friends' - 'animals are my friends and i don't eat my friends' ever heard that one?
-
Actually, it's a very valid excuse. Why? BECAUSE IT HAPPENED. face it. It is real. PS NO such English word as Nobly. I looked it up. and you have no good argument which is why you resort to attacking the speaker. the truth is, people like you put me off being vegetarianism. The same mentality put me off religion. It's the militant fanatical types that do nothing for a movement. they create no headway. they produce no gains in the movement. Period. Plus, the fact that you have to hijack a thread about alternative health to spout your views just to get an audience.
-
a situation where being a vegan is a detriment in health: Candida Albicans. The yeast infection. that fungus that lives in our bodies and is kept in check by probiotics that eat it. Only, probiotics are killed by anti biotics (such as Garlic and oregano as well as medications which may be needed in case of a bigger infection) which then allows the yeast to overgrow and infect the body. There are only three foods that don't feed Candida. Meat. Eggs. Vegetables. (and I mean real vegetables: Not potatoes. Not beans. Not green beans. Not squash. these are not vegetables). some of us call this disease the vegetarian scourge since they seem to have the hardest time getting it out of their bodies. Especially jock itch which is a form of it. all them starches and carbs feed that fungus and help it grow.
-
simplyrahil:
as for 'friends' - 'animals are my friends and i don't eat my friends' ever heard that one?
so you're basically admitting you have no friends. I know you admitted to having no pets or animal companions in your home. Gee. I have rescued animals in mine. they are my friends and I saved them and now take care of them. I have actual animal friends the type that are near me every day.
-
Kathryn O:
PS NO such English word as Nobly.
you keep proving your absurdity with every post, darn. YOU are trying to school me about 'no such English word'? hahahaha this is coming from the individual who posted "The mark of a immature man is that he wants to die n0bely for a cause" there IS NO such English word as 'N0bely' or 'Nobely'. and THERE IS such an English word as 'Nobly' which is the adverb from 'Noble'. evidence - http://www.merriam-webster.com/thesaurus/nobly nobly adverb in a manner befitting a person of the highest character and ideals <civil rights activists nobly striving for justice and equality> Synonyms gallantly, grandly, greatheartedly, heroically, high-mindedly, honorably, magnanimously, nobly Related Words loftily, venerably; magnificently, majestically; bravely, chivalrously, courageously, valiantly Near Antonyms abominably, contemptibly, despicably, detestably, hatefully, nastily, pitiably, sorrily, wretchedly; degenerately Antonyms basely, currishly, dishonorably, ignobly http://www.wordreference.com/enfr/nobly nobly /ˈnəʊblɪ/ English definition | English synonyms | in Spanish | conjugator | in context | images WordReference Collins WordReference English-French Dictionary 2013: Principal Translations/Principales traductions nobly adv (with great dignity or grandeur) noblement adv hahaha amazing that you have embarrassed yourself on something that was avoidable as simply ACTUALLY looking in a dictionary or on google. when it comes to ENGLISH, you gotta come good if you wanna try to diss me. you dissed yourself. --- about the rest of your post - stop making excuses. just because something happened to your ego due to some 'vegan' long ago, does not make it any valid excuse to eat animals! anyone who has any sense could come and state that here, but for some reason no one else is brave enough to tell you this! you are talking nonsense! next thing you hear 'oh a meat-eater treated me funnily, so i stopped eating meat' hahaha, that would be classic. you have no valid excuse for eating animals. especially not that nonsense about how someone supposedly treated you. that 'someone' is not the animals, so why victimize animals for how that person supposedly treated you? makes NO SENSE at all. keep on trying to make excuses about 'candida' this and that. the only thing you have 'on your side' on here is that i am outnumbered and everyone else seems to be afraid of you and has to tiptoe around the nonsense you post. if there were more actual vegans on here, they would tell you off along with me about the nonsense you are posting to try to have some reason for the killing of animals to continue to be funded. when it comes to killing animals, you have no excuse. no set of stories or whatever you post comes near to a valid excuse for killing animals. it's a real sinister thing you are doing, so please stop it. i am sorry for your pets. maybe they are next in line for having an excuse for being eaten as well... my not having 'pets' has no bearing at all on you or anyone not eating animals. you choose to pay for and consume of the killing of animals. i choose not to. your keeping 'pets' negates nothing of what you are perpetrating by paying for killing all other animals besides your 'pets'. it negates nothing. you are paying for killing animals, no matter how you try to make drama around post replies, etc. why? because there is no valid excuse! end of story.

Cranberry juice is great for the kidneys. Home remedies and natural medicines have been around for thousands of years.

Dr. Depak Chopra flew from California to N.C. to be on PBS because they showed his program "What are You Really Hungry For?" He combines western and indian medicine. I don't really think natural cures and alternative medicine are never useful and helpful, was playing devil's advocate in a sense when I started this topic. Yet I don't believe just anything and everything, just because it's alternative. Chopra claimed in a medical study on bunny rabbits, the rabbits fed a high fat high cholesterol diet didn't show bad numbers as long as they were talked to, cuddled, shown affection and so on by the lab technicians. Those rabbits not treated with TLC exhibited the usual detrimental effects of a high saturated fats diet. Therefore, one's emotions and mental state have an enormous effect on one's health. I'd like to read his new book.
