Has anyone heard about the 'Classical Mystery Tour' thats touring Australia in July??
I have now booked tickets for this show as it sounds pretty cool? This show is apparently touring USA and it is an America cover band made of original cast members of the Broadway show Beatlemania. The band is backed by the Queensland Pop Orchestra and it will be at held at The Concert Hall at QPAC, Southbank, Brisbane in July. There are other venues throughout Australia.

Do you think it's because of his lack of commercial success of late in OZ.?Would his shows sell out in OZ today.?

I'm hardcore, so I'd go to every gig he played here. Perhaps other fans who were pissed at his cancellation might not go. I know a couple of people who have said as much. Who knows? But if his reputation is tarnished here, it's solely his own doing - he can blame nobody else. Personally I think he's gutless. Two things would terrify him coming back here... (1) he has a morbid fear of not selling out gigs and ... (2) he would know that the Aussie press would constantly be bleating about the 02 cancellation. Paul is a control freak when it comes to his image - and it's the above 2 scenarios that would be a nightmare that not even his great PR skills and publicity machine would be able to put a positive spin on.

I'll go along with Paul being a bit of a control freak, but he's always been that way,it's not new. If Paul was gutless as you say, he wouldn't have stepped into the political hot potato of the Middle East, by playing in Israel. I don't think the reason for pulling out of the Australian show in 2002 was a good one,but i don't think it was fear,i think he was poorly advised.According to some reports i've read, Paul's relatives in Australia said it would be advisable to cancel his show, in respect of the victims of the Bali bombings..I do think it's about time he went to play there though. As for the press,i think he can handle the question on the cancellation. He would probably be more worried about selling tickets than anything else, mind you that's all artists nightmare.

I meant he was gutless for not being true to his word and coming back.

but everyone wants him to come back

I hope it's circumstances rather than a lie.I think 16 years is far too long for the Australian fans to wait for some shows. A lot of fans seem to fly all over the world to see him,but we are not all able to drop everything and do that, plus financially you have to be pretty well off do do it.My last show was in Portugal, but my brother lives there so i had a holiday as well,so it all came together right,it was a bit of good fortune. It was just lucky timing for me.

I had to go o/s to see him a couple of times too. He ain't comin' back here...still love the man - but he's a mongrel.
-
i'd love to see him go to oz, i think australian audiences would be over the top with their uproarious approval and love, overwhelming adoration and loud wild screams, etc. at the concert and a gazillion aussies would go. it would be just fantastic. just my take on it from peering into my crystal ball, mate

How can you say that? Maybe thats why he isnt coming because everyone is doubting him. I on the other hand love him and have faith that he will come back to Oz and i will see him for the very first time. Always have faith in your heroes
