Paul, Come To Australia
-
Woohoo!! Someone else posted!!! (Been checking in the thread a few times a week )
-
I haven't forgot Paul, just been a little sidetracked with other things. Had a fantastic night for a charity concert with all local bands playing beatle songs for 'Doctors without Frontiers'. Long live Lennon & McCartney.
-
GREAT to hear Cassandra Had my own Beatle related thing happen recently that I'm stoked about. Dunno if you guys heard, but as I'm a massive fan, I did - Cheap Trick did a night recently to celebrate "Sgt Pepper"'s 40th anniversary where they played the whole album from start to finish live with an orchestra. They also did some other Beatle songs with guests. For a while I was trying to find a good bootleg of it, and in the last week, someone hooked me up. UNREAL. Robin Zander really nails all the vocal stuff amazingly well. Not sure if I'm allowed to post it here, but if anyone wants to hear it, PM me and I can let ya know were to look

Hi Paul, really looking forward to seeing you in concert in Australia! Ssshh sorry I forgot it was a secret! Oh well!

You out there Chrissie? Turns out we've been and gone from your part of the country. Meant to give you a heads up a couple of days before, but we had our cat do a runner, so all the spare time literally leading up to it, we were looking for him. Turns out the cheeky bugger was stuck INSIDE the next door neighbour's roof!!! Had to go up their man hole twice before I could get him, and then was running late to get to the airport. Very hectic haha, but a great trip. LOVE your city and coming back in June. Hopefully we won't have any runaway's the day before that one and I can give you a yell in time Few pics here: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=16328&l=dc11e&id=639243376

Hi chris Glad you liked our little town.. Hope you weren't here during the heatwave!! Love to catch up if you come back. Has anyone heard any more rumours of a tour? Now the divorce is over I think he will want to get back on the road. Have seen some references to a world tour, supposedly bigger than he has done before, so, fingers crossed, that might include Australia. PAUL IN OZ IN O8!!!!! Cheers Chrissie

Coming back in June, and yup, we were there for the heat wave. Still awesome though - can't wait to go back. Poor buggers with that heatwave!!
-
Hey Paul, just a little reminder to come and visit your Aussie friends here in Oz. We love you!!!!!! And we love you and hope you love us. Waiting in anticipation.
-
Read a bulletin post from Brian Ray on Myspace teasing that there is starting to be talk of a tour with Paul and the boys and that he'll say more next time. Woohoo!!
-
WOOOOHOOOO!!!!! According to the maccareport HE is touring in Northern Hemisphere Autumn, INCLUDING AUSTRALIA!!!!!!! Apparently tour dates will be announced in May. A dream come true if this happens!!!!! PAUL IN OZ, AT LAST!!!!!!! Cheers Chrissie

I heard about this a few months ago, and totally FREAKED OUT. I was so excited, I'm a huge Beatles fan (They occupy my top band slot and three of my top album slots) and I enjoy Paul's solo stuff too. I live in Brisbane. Just a question... This show won't be 18+ will it? It'll be all ages, because it'll be in big stadiums, right? I'd hate to miss it because I'm not old enough by 9 months. And also, how much will this probably cost? I need to know how much I need to start saving. Paul forever! Beatles forever! love Charlie

Hi there, Rest assured, Paul's concerts are for all ages from 1 to 100!!!! I still have my ticket for the cancelled Melbourne concert and that cost me $450-00. This was a Platinum ticket though, up front. There will be much cheaper tickets, I think the General tickets for Melbourne were about $100-00 or so. Cheers Chrissie

Ahh, fantastic! I'm glad it's all ages, I didn't want to miss it! Was the Melbourne one going to be totally sit-down, or did it have a general admission standing section too? I've only ever been to one sit-down concert (Ben Folds) so I'm pretty biased towards standing ones. I'd pay the $450 to be at the front but mother probably would strangle me, so those $100 tickets sound mighty good! Thank you!! love Charlie
-
Hi I saw Paul in 1997 and that was suppose to be sit down, but as soon as he came on stage, everyone stood anyway!!! People were standing on seats etc. If this tour is stadium, it will probably be seated, ( to start with anyway), Paul is not into moshes!!! The security at the '97 concert were pretty strict though, you could not leave your row. But I guess that is fair anyway, if you pay top price you should be confident of standing where you have paid for. What really annoys me though is all the front rows at that concert anyway, seemed to be taken up with people who looked as though they didn't really want to be there. Probably got free tickets. I think real fans should be able to have access to all tickets, as a priority, before the society parasites get their tickets. Anyway, no sense whinging PAUL IN OZ Cheers Chrissie

Wow - some activity. Welcome to the thread Charlie!! Hope we get a bit of notice for this tour, cause they tend to spring em on you nowadays. And by notice, I mean "official" notice - on prices etc. Would looooooooooooove to go top dollar this time, but if it's gonna be same prices as last time with two weeks notice I won't be able to do it. You still maybe gonna go to multiple shows Chrissie??

I'm so excited that Paul is coming to Australia, finally! I'm from Brisbane too, but I don't think he'd play here; we've only got the Entertainment Centre, but then again we did just have Celin Dion doing her big show over here so there might be enough seating. I'm not sure - how big are Paul's shows anyway? I've never had a chance to go to anything like his before! If he doesn't come to Brissy, I'll probably go to the Sydney one.
-
We also have the Lyric theater/ Performing Arts complex which I went to Ben Folds at, it was pretty big.

I'd reckon he'd play in Brissy for sure. They tried to just do the two Melbourne shows last time which didn't work, so you'd imagine it'd be a full tour of the country this time round.
-
That would be so awesome if he came to Brissy. I think he has a relative here. It doesn't matter to me where he tours in Australia cause I'll be there. I too have my old Melbourne tickets and was so depressed when he postponed the concert. It does concern me though how the tickets will be issued ie I really would like the first few rows and as I'm quite short I have had some nasty people who will refuse to sit down for a couple minutes in various concerts. But I also understand that they have bought good tickets too and have the right to do so. But my dream is to be in as close to Paulie as I can be .
-
Yeah I got my Melbourne ticket as well -
