Steptoe and Son. Are they ours?

I've just seen a great Australian band in concert here in Buenos Aires. They are called Mumford And Sons and they are great! The audience loved them. Cheers.
Um, not one of ours. Although the poms do have a proclivity to wander into this nation, so maybe one day. We will do a trade involving Ben Elton. And an unconditional "Rolf Harris never to come back" deal. It's a winner. Win-win.
My bad, I thought they were Australian.

Wow, thanks Chrissie! Was there any more detail, like what time-of-year or which cities?

Andrew it was ADL specific. Nothing in the Melbourne Murdoch. It did say talks had "begun" for an Australian tour "early next year." Then went on to mention Adelaide Oval as a likely venue. Perhaps a local promoter leaked that to somehow gauge interest or whether that city is viable? R

Thanks very much, Robert! I found a link this morning in case anyone else wants to read it: http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/news/opinion/off-the-record-the-home-of-sa-political-gossip/news-story/6a0067cbdb07b4ff80ffb69bc0106b6a You might be right about the reason, because I think there's a definite question mark over whether he could sell out the Adelaide Oval in 2016, especially after what happened with Elvis Costello recently. There's a story about it here, where the promoter says what a tough market Adelaide is: http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/entertainment/arts/elvis-costello-cancels-adelaide-gig-fans-blame-poor-promotion/story-fni6um7a-1226813873030 I know that comparing Paul with Elvis C is apples and oranges, and arguably the Stones are a better comparison. Although they did seem to sell out the Adelaide Oval a couple of years ago, Adelaide had the advantage of being the first show announced, and I think people were under the impression for a while that it would be their only Australian gig. Maybe strategy that could work for McCartney too, but I don't see him agreeing to it after Melbourne 2002. Fingers crossed for an Australian Tour at last! Toes crossed for another Brisbane gig after 40 years!

Oh, yeah. Could be! Here's a dot-point summary: * Paul last visited Adelaide 23 years ago * Beatles fans in Adelaide might have reluctantly given up hope of a return * mentions the speculation triggered by Paul's Australia Day post/tweet * talks have begun with Paul's people for a tour of Australia, including Adelaide * this is "set to spark a bidding war among Australian promoters", which suggests that they don't think he has yet committed to a particular promoter or deal. * Adelaide Oval (where the Stones were the first to play in 2014) is likely to be the venue in Adelaide * mentions that he cancelled the Melbourne show in 2002 after the Bali bombing * implies that the ticket prices were too high in 2002, but such prices might not seem unreasonable now * mentions that there is "fierce interest" among multiple promoters Cheers, Andrew.

Including Auckland he could do as many as 8 or 9 concerts here.

Good luck for australian fans!
