Paul, Come To Australia

Anyone planning to go to Japan? Since the 2013 McCartney tour there I've totally fallen in love with the place having been four times since, so it's definitely on my radar! Doesn't seem to be any news on Australian shows either so what the hell! At least those shows will happen!
It'd be nice to know if he was going to come to Australia...seriously thinking of going to Japan just in case he doesn't come here. Cmon Paul, it's been too long!
I remember this subject came up the last time. I'm considering doing it IF he doesn't come out here. The thing is, I'd much rather spend the money for airfare and all the rest of it on a VIP package. Plus, it's nice to see him in your home town. I watched the Tokyo Dome show and it was great to have his English subtitled in Japanese but the reverse wasn't true. Having watched his other shows I was able to work out most of them like "The next song, I wrote for Linda." or something to that effect. EDIT: Just did a little google. Says updated 2 days ago. Just wishful thinking or what? https://www.theticketmerchant.com.au/?s=paul+mccartney

Come on Paul. I'm ready for my first trip to Australia. Do it soon, it's summer there, I've had enough of winter here, and it's not even January.
right there with you...but mainly I want this to happen for Aussie fans already. anyone have leads on good travel insurance that would cover cancelled/rescheduled shows? I was very close to travelling for the Japan dates in 2014.

If you are in the US Google travel insurance. The best sight I've found is Insure My Trip (I've used them extensively and had no problems even blowing out my knee in Nepal) which will give you quotes from many different insurers. Just make sure you select a policy which covers cancellation for ANY reason, otherwise they usually just cover the usual contingencies such as death, illness, terrorism, etc...A cancelled concert wouldn't be covered otherwise. If in the UK or Oz I believe there is an insurer called World Nomads which may be worth checking out.

It would indeed! I was trying to decide if I should go for McCartney tickets or wait on Cheap Trick returning this year as expected. I followed them on tour there in November and had the time of my life. Having done the Macca in Japan thing in 2013, I've decided to wait on Cheap Trick as they deserve my money more - just a bunch of good down to earth hard working dudes who happen to make great rock music. I figure Paul can come to me this time. Have emailed Barrie Marshall too just to see if there is a response and if so, if it's any different to the usual one.

I'd also prefer to spend the money on a VIP package here! Oohh fingers crossed the ticket merchant knows more than we do!

I mentioned that a little earlier. I suspect it's nothing more than Ticketmaster having him listed with "No planned dates" underneath or words to that effect. I keep flitting between hopefulness and doubt. It's very easy to see clues when you're looking for them.

No need to apologise. I hope I'm not coming across too pessimistic. I have this habit of trying to find issues with something before I believe it.

Hi W.D, I think you're right to be skeptical. I think it is only evidence of the existence of a rumour. That particular reseller has near-identical pages for other big acts like U2, The Rolling Stones and Metallica. I don't think they will all be announcing tours imminently. On a personal note, I hope that the people at that site don't really have inside info because they have no listing for Brisbane (despite listing Adelaide - less likely - and Perth - equally likely). However, they don't have a Brisbane listing for Adele either, and she is definitely coming here. So, my conclusion is that there's no reason to think that they know anything more than we do. Cheers, Andrew.

We have ticket agencies here in the states that post ahead of any announcements. I have found them to be wrong about 95% of the time

Thanks, Bob. I thought that might be how sites like that operate. Cheers, Andrew.

Interestingly (or maybe not), I've had no response from Marshall Arts so far. Usually they've been very fast to tell me it's not happening. I am committed to the Japan tour now however so I almost don't want it to come true haha!
-
I have received silence as well from other directions. I know if it happens, Australia will be a big announcement, been a very long time so I see it as a good sign. No direct denials may mean something is brewing
-
That is interesting that you're getting the same! Typical - I buy flights to Japan and it'll finally happen haha! I do LOVE Japan though and am always happy to go back.
-
I vote that people that have hung in there with this thread should be granted admission to soundcheck in their respective cities shows We've only been here since 2002 afterall.
-
Gave Japan a little thought but at 6'08" , not like king 18 hours in the air

Remembering Paul's message to us last January, wouldn't it be great to get a tour announcement on this Australia Day?

Is that a clue?
