Paul, Come To Australia
-
On an different matter, have you guys noticed that the "Diamond" sections are lop-sided on all of the Australia & NZ seating plans? That is, they extend further to the left (if you're facing the stage) than to the right. The only explanation that I can come up with is that the equivalent seats on the right would not have as good a view of Paul when he's playing the grand piano. Do you think that's the reason?

No. I put it down to greed.

Still finding something to crab about eh, moppy?

Well, Ticketek seems to be slowly updating the pages. The VIP packages are listed when they weren't before but still now mention of prices for them.

Accommodation booked in Melbourne and Sydney. Now I just need to get tickets. I notice the presale on this site are all at the same time. Does that mean I need to book say Melbourne first and then Sydney? The presale on Frontier are at different times. The map for Sydney is not available yet has anyone seen that anywhere? Cheers Chrissie

Just watched the 60 Minutes interview. Quite fun and one or two things I'd not heard before. It certainly seemed a lot more like promo and heavily edited but he seemed to be enjoying himself more than he did with Tim Minchin.

Any interesting remarks about the tour or perhaps the upcoming album?

Nah, not really. It was more of a history retrospective. There were lots of clips and voiceovers talking about his musical life and then his personal life. I think it was 'show off Paul McCartney to Australia - just in case they've forgotten who he is'. He certainly comes across as cool and fun and very endearing to even the younger generation here so I doubt he'll have any issues with ticket sales this time around.

I hope it turns up on youtube soon...which I am sure it will.

So how do you purchase presale tickets through paulmccartney.com? Clicking on the presale links takes you to Ticketek, so how do they know I'm registered? As a member do I still need to register? And there's no way to "login" on paulmccartney.com. Can someone please enlighten me? Thanks.

If it works the same as the US ones, you need to access Ticketek through the presale links here. Sometimes the presale is hidden for people who try to go directly to the sale page, so accessing it thru the links is how to get there. There is probably going to be a password to enter, which should be on the news page or on a thread that the mods will post here.

I think the password was mentioned in the news item as PAUL1ON1ANZ.

Hi Guys With the presale do you have to do each city separately? Is it best to ask for diamond seats or best seats available. Haven't done this for such a big concert before. Good luck everyone. Cheers Chrissie

So, what do people think? Is VIP worth it? I'm contemplating Hot Sound to get the soundcheck. I'm assuming when it says "premium" Diamond level ticket, it means there'll be better seats there than in the regular Diamond.
-
I'm thinking of going hot sound too, I figure it'll be the only time I go to a soundcheck. I think I'll regret it if I don't.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. In 10 years, am I really going to think 'Oh, if only I hadn't spent that $1500.'? But I'm really thingy about making large purchases. I um and ahh for ages and weigh up the pros and cons before buying anything remotely expensive. This would be the most expensive thing I've bought possibly ever. The only thing that came close was a cinema camera and that was $1300.

I'm exactly the same. I'm meant to be going to Singapore in September. If I buy VIP tickets that'll mean cancelling that trip. I figure Singapore will always be there though. I've been tossing up what to do, but at the end of the day I think I'll regret it if I don't do VIP once. And I did say that if I don't go to Japan to see Paul, I'll do VIP if he ever comes here.

The only thing is, you pay all that money for the front row and you only get side section seats. I am dying to go to the sound check so I think I will stump up the money anyway. One of the disclaimers is there are no refunds, no exceptions. This wouldn't be the case if it was (god forbid) cancelled on the promoters end, correct? And will the VIP tickets go on sale tomorrow or at Frontier's pre-sale?
