Maccaboard: Now We Are New!

Shame so many thousands somehow disappeared. Probably right many didn't like the new format. And don't care for change and new things, or didn't want to bother learning the ropes, or flocked to other fan sites. Many are just "ghosts"
... or perhaps most Paul fans don't want to read a load of guff about what he looks like or what his wife is wearing and are more interested in his actual work. That's why sites like the Steve Hoffman forum is so popular because more importance is placed on his music than his hairy arms !!!

LOL! I think it is also that they can't get back in here with old passwords or they just aren't interested anymore.

Hmm... someone talking about his hairy arms.... now who could that be? lol have no idea who you could be referring to there! Seems like we've all participated in discussions about Paul's former beard and/or hair color at one time or another, not to mention his shirts and shoes, sunglasses, guitars, and other assorted details.
Seriously though, I've seen several posts from members who have had to create new usernames in order to get on here, and ask how to log in with their old usernames... most have said if they can't be who everyone knows them as, it isn't the same... so I imagine that's the reason some people haven't come back, or like Oobu said, they have trouble logging in with old passwords.

Yeah, wonder who he’s talking about?
On the other subject, I had to add a character to my old password to make it a “new” password when I first went on this new site. No problem with my user name.

It hurts me to lose three years of my writings here (the first three years '07 to first of 2010), but I suppose they couldn't help it in the change over. This new format seems a bit tenuous in some ways. Fragile. Flickering. In some ways

I wanted to post about the massive errors still going on, but when I posted it I got...
"The form has become outdated. Copy any unsaved work in the form below and then reload this page."
The irony behind it all. Any unsaved work of course gone. Never mind...

Use the blue Provide Feedback button on the right.

That's just a function automatically attached to the forum software, as if that's being looked into by people who should be taking care of this.

As Paul said in "Despite Repeated Warnings"... "The captain won't be listening". I don't know if anyone ever does read those feedback notes. I've never received an answer on any that I have sent.

Is the original poster still around?

The OP is PaulMcCartney.com/Administrator, but they seemed to have deserted us!

What if they created two sites when they "fixed" this place? One site works well and everyone is carrying on normally. The other site was created for the troublemakers and will be left as is until they all give up and go away.

Interesting thought...
Have you ever noticed that whenever we make a post, the post count always goes up by 2, instead of 1... My post count is 5888, then when I post this, it will be 5890... post 5889 has to be somewhere

Troublemakers? Us? LOL!!!
Leslie, that's weird about the post count. I never looked at that.

yeah, I think whenever we post, an extra copy of the post could be automatically saved to an archive/backup place on the site, a lot of sites do that in case of a possible crash, so they can have a backup to restore everyone's posts.... just my opinion anyway.

Now yours says 5900! (Mine just went up by 2 after this post as well!)

2017: Now we are new.
2019: Still not fixing the bugs.
2021: Remember when Paul McCartney had a website?
