A Big Thank You From PaulMcCartney.com

My email said... The 'Live Kisses' film is available in three file sizes. The large and medium versions are recommended for high-speed internet connections, and computers made within the last three years.

THANK YOU FOR THE FREEBEES OF "LIVE KISSES!" LOVED IT! BUT I STILL ORDERED MY DVD FROM AMAZON.COM. SO THERE'S NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT. UNLESS YOU CAN MAKE RINGO AUTOGRAPH A PIC FOR ME.

Ah.... BIG ALERT Google tucked my download e-mail away in the Spam folder. If you have a g-mail account as your primary e-mail associated with the site, go check your Spam folder. This is the first occasion anything from PaulMcCartney.com has ended in there and I will teach it immediately never to do that again Martin

Good tip Martin - I found mine in my junk folder and I use Hotmail...

I haven't had an email either. I'm a "Pioneer" (and I fully agree with the comments that that means I am really a "Sucka"). I may get the email tomorrow, though, so for once I'm not complaining about that yet. However, this seems typical of the shambolic way the whole enterprise has been run from the beginning. It's not a difficult thing to email a lot of people simultaneously. Anyone with a Hotmail account could do it. I regularly get 2 emails from Paul McCartney.com on every non-essential matter going (premium and non-premium versions). So why do they have to provide an email address to contact in case they have missed anyone? I'm still waiting for an explanation of why the changes had to happen. I'm glad that those who signed up recently are getting a full refund, but most people who paid for a year didn't get a year, so is there a sliding scale of compensation? Why are responses from those "in charge" so SLOW on this site? They are reinstating some of the social aspects, which is very nice of them, but what else is being reinstated, or planned? Why can't they just tell us now, rather than charging for stuff, taking it away, asking for comments, reinstating some of it, hinting that more might be reinstated, not promising anything... it's a completely bizarre (and sh*t) way of going about things. Are any of the people "guiding" PM.com actually big fans of his? Does PM himself have any knowledge of what's been going on? Are HP still involved? Can anyone involved give any kind of coherent explanation?

After reading everything in this thread...along with the replies...I think there's a general consensus that those in charge should be able to glean: the fans aren't happy. These are the fans who have been there from the beginning...not the 'fans' who go see a Paul show when he's in town because it's the thing to do. Unfortunately, most of us can't compete with those who can afford resale prices so as for constructive criticism: - WHY are soundchecks for sale? I think I can speak for EVERYONE on this board when I say, THAT would be the ultimate 'thank you' for the fans. - I think I can also safely say that ALL of us would be happy to purchase tickets available to fan club members exclusively if they were good seats. Say...2 tickets per customer so no abuse of the system. I did buy tickets through the fan club once...as the email I received said they were set aside by Paul McCartney.com for members...and ended up out in the bleachers at Fenway Park watching Paul on the screens. Great show, though I was heartbroken that that's what the fan club considered a good section. - As far as freebies go...I guess we all know it's a business. BUT...I for one didn't buy ANYTHING at the merchandise booth at my last PM show because the prices were ridiculous (as they are at ANY show...not just Paul and Co.). I bet you could throw together a bunch of unsold items and make us all happy that way too. I personally don't expect anything, would take anything, and wear a size medium. : I feel like I'm whining a bit...but what can I say, except it's a shame that those of us who WOULD LIKE a big box set of RAM or BAND ON THE RUN can't run out and buy them...or justify buying yet another version just for the photos we don't yet have. I realize these things cost a fortune to put together...but you asked...so that's the answer. I don't have the last book of Linda photos either. Not that I didn't want it at first glance...but again...it's an extra. So...to sum up...we know it's a business. We are all grateful that Paul puts together FANTASTIC shows...and we all wish we could purchase ALL the great things being issued. That being said...as it is a business...there are things you can do that cost nothing (or relatively little), and would go a long way toward fulfilling any and all 'promises' made if that's what you're looking to do: - soundcheck access (a one-time only opportunity so as to give everybody a once-in-a-lifetime thrill) - a grab bag of items from past tours (that you probably have in storage anyway ) - and that elusive pre-sale code for tickets set aside for members only, within the first ten rows (2 to a customer), so we can all see Paul up close whenever he comes within reach of our area codes. Nothing will ever compare to Club Sandwich...but that was a special time. And done with love. It didn't seem like it was a business enterprise then...more like a fun hobby...and it was clear to all. We felt appreciated...and very lucky. I bet if you mined the Club Sandwich mailing list, you'd find most of us there. Just my 2 cents. Again. P.S. I need a job. If you want someone to go through the McCartney archives and put together THE BEST fan club site ever...I'm available.
-
^^^ Haha. I need a job, too. I think we'll do a better job! Put people with passion in charge! Interesting that people are wondering what Paul himself would think of this total mess. I don't think he'd be pleased to know his most dedicated fans have been ripped off. Maybe people going to the upcoming shows should make a sign for him to read: "MPL CANCELLED OUR PAID MEMBERSHIP " I'd love to see the MPL staff faces if Paul asked them what's going on for his fans to make such an outcry like this.

I p*ssed Paul off with a sign of displeasure about the LIPA tickets in 93 and I won't do it again.

Firstly you have the option of three different download codes so try another option. Then if all fails here is the Topspin Customer Support pages for Paul downloads: http://support.topspinmedia.com/categories/20022016-paul-mccartney-faqs Specifically Live Kisses Download questions: http://support.topspinmedia.com/forums/21356652-live-kisses-faqs If the FAQ don't answer your question then you may open a support question "ticket" they have the ability to reset your download access... http://app.topspin.net/account/help_public Martin

Have you checked the junk mail folder? I felt the same way and then I saw it there. I use Hotmail.

Thank you, Paul & co.

I tried to DL the large file and it said it would take over 2 hours, then when I came back later it said the DL was interrupted!! So now I have to start all over again. Maybe I will try the medium instead. :

Well, I never belonged to Premium, Pioneer, or anything other than general access. And loved it just the same. I came here to belong to a group--one group--of people who loved Paul--period. I came to enjoy talking with a great bunch of folks who are Paul fans. Equal Paul fans. I think we all need reminding that Paul was/is/and always will be for EQUALITY. Special groups with access to exclusive perks of anything has never been his style. Just because you have or are willing to spend extra money does NOT make one a better or more dedicated fan. Or more loyal. Nor should it. Paul is trying to make the world a bit better with his money, and adding his name to very neccessary charities to help people and causes in dire need. Yet here, some of you are, sounding like spoilt children whining because their new toy isn't shiny enough. You're lucky to have that toy. For FREE. A reality-check is needed here: this is Paul's website. As owner he's free to make any changes he wishes, or authorize those he hires to do so. He doesn't have to ask our permission. [as fans, you wouldn't presume to tell him how to write a song]. As my Grandmother said: ya pays your money, ya takes your chances.
-
I downloaded the large file. Took about 4 hours. No problems plays perfectly. It's an mp4 file so I loaded it onto a usb and watched it on tv.
-
All this stuff from some people about first and second class fans is the most childish nonsense. Not good enough to say "ya pays your money, ya takes your chances" - not from a reputable organisation, anyway. If you advertise a service and charge money for it, you should give people what they have paid for, or give them their money back if you can't provide the service (which, to be fair, now seems to be happening in the worst cases). If you decided not to pay for the service, that doesn't make you a second class anything - it just means you decided it wasn't for you, the same way you make choices about anything else you buy or don't buy. If you genuinely couldn't afford to pay, that's another matter, but I'd say in that case you have more pressing problems than signing up for content on a fan site.
