Here is our FEEDBACK: Paul we Love you !!! Love from Rio !!!

Apologies in advance if this issue has already been raised but I really don't have enough free time at the moment to trawl through 13 pages of what, I assume, are mainly complaints. I have a question that I'd like an official or, at least, semi-official response to I'm fairly sure there was a message posted from the webmaster that confirmed that the membership period for each member would be reset when the site exited its beta testing phase. That means that our membership hasn't actually started. So, if the package has been pulled, we should get refunds, surely, because the membership never actually started. If anyone from the website is actually taking note of these comments, could I please make the following plea regarding the proposed package of goodies I don't think a download of Live Kisses is a nice gesture. By definition, Premium Members are gonna be hardcore McCartney fans, many of whom have to own everything. That's why they paid for Premium Membership in the first place. Consequently, I think most will want to own the DVD/BR of Live Kisses if only to keep their collections complete. I'd be hoping for/expecting something genuinely exclusive. Isn't that the point of PREMIUM membership???

I note that I actually used the word actually quite a lot in my previous post. Oops ) Still, a bit of mild levity never hurt.

just stumbled on this and the news about Premium memberships being discontinued. Seems like they barely gave it a chance, but maybe it was just too hard to meet all the expectations they'd set. I looked at it as though it was the digital/21st century version of the old Fun Club---by being a member, you were entitled to various perks and things over the years, so it was worth the expense to me. However, I do think they never got the ticket presale thing right until this last set of 4 shows--seems like that was the only time that Premium members could log in ahead of everyone else to buy tickets, which is what was promised. as to the website itself, it hasn't lived up to expectations; I liked the Jukebox and some of the features, but there are still some errors on the Tour section that I pointed out to the webmaster a year ago that were never fixed (wrong date for Edinburgh 1979; wrong venue for one of the Glasgow gigs!). So if people are using this site as a source for info about Paul, it's inaccurate and that's very sloppy, considering it's his official site. So there's my .02!

Thank you for your continued support. PaulMcCartney.com
Our individual fan page was a nice feature. The jukebox. All the steaming music was really nice. Presale access to PM concert tickets. That's what I liked about being a premium member. You really shouldn't have been selling premium memberships on Oct 12th. That's not cool. I'm sure this wasn't an overnight decision.

Wow! You are on-point! Technically, we never got the "goods" we'd purchased.

As a loyal fan, I loved the updated site -- I bragged about it to friends whose idols' web sites paled in comparison (have you seen Stevie Nicks' official site? Awful! Looks like a page from the late-'90s). With that said, the numerous blunders over the past year have, unfortunately, made this whole venture an embarrassment and a public-relations strike against our dear Paulie.

Yes, but I'd take that site again in it's BETA state over what this is now. Now it really is a step backwards. Shame...really. And now they want you to sign up again with a diff service just to leave a comment? Why not keep parts of the previous site to make it easier on the members?
-
="oobu24"And now they want you to sign up again with a diff service just to leave a comment?
I work for a media Web site, and pretty much every Web site has abandoned internally operated comment systems (like the one Paul's beta site had) and replaced them with Discus or Facebook or similar systems. Why? Internally operated comment systems are a HUGE pain to operate, very labor intensive, require lots of personnel, and are a waste of money. Why use one when you can work with Discus or Facebook which are extremely well-run software programs created purposely for comments. It's a smart move for MPL to go the Discus route. And every Web site I frequent has already gone that route. My own paper dropped our internal comment system 2 years ago and went with Discus. It's a no brainer.

Paul really does this like no other, a HUGE announcement, and then the project falls flat when he looses enthusiasm for it. I wouldn't mind, but it's the pure deception, and leading the fans on that should be so beneath him, and it happens time and again. The web site and the whole HP cloud hoopla is a perfect example. The one that 'infuriates' me the most is the remaster/reissue series, the speed of them coming out is one thing, but in the original MPL press release it was stated in black and white that 'all' of Paul's catalog was going to be released in this deluxe, expanded form, so I made an informed decision to pay the big money and purchase the deluxe versions, as I would have had a set, now in dribs and drabs we're hearing from his manager that it's only going to be approx eight albums released in this manner. The blatant dishonesty around Paul astounds me (Melbourne 2002 anyone?)
-
Wow, I am shocked and saddened that the premium memberships had the plug pulled. I don't understand, I'm not a pioneer member any longer? I thought the first amongst us to join were told we would be pioneers for evermore, what happened and why?

What a poorman's replacement the new 'music player' is for the jukebox feature. : :
That's exactly what AGreig means when he posts;
so please continue to post what functionality you would like to see and what functionality you enjoyed from the previous website.
If you'd like to see an enhanced music player akin to the Jukebox previously provided then post such a suggestion here. It seems MPL, having stripped away certain features, is genuinely keen to gather constructive suggestions as to how the revamped site should be developed to meet your wishes. Martin

I'm going to be very unpopular here, but I thought the idea of "Premium Membership" absolutely sucked and I'm so very pleased that such a horrible, divisive policy has been removed from Paul's site. All of you who were "happy" to pay the £40/$65 to become premium members - you've all got more money than sense. Same as those who pay thousands of pounds/dollars to touts/scalpers for front row tickets - your greed (I'm sure you prefer the term "fandom") is supporting a corrupt system and opportunistic individuals and denying other fans the opportunity to see their idol because they can't compete with those who have thousands to spare. Most ordinary people simply don't. As for pre-sale codes, there is no reason why they couldn't be e-mailed out to members of the forum or, alternatively, be given out with purchases of new albums/DVDs. Some people, especially in such tough economic times, just haven't got the money to waste (and you have all wasted your money if you bought premium membership) on becoming a member of a ridiculous, exclusive Macca club. There should be a level playing field when it comes to opportunities to see Paul in concert and to access his website. The idea of paying a premium for either of these things is a repugnant idea and alienates the young, the unemployed, the sick and anybody on a low income. I don't feel sorry for anyone who feels as if they have lost out on this, as far as I'm concerned, it's what you get for buying into such a horrible scheme in the first place. Peace and love.

There are ways of expressing opinions without insulting those you are expressing your opinions to. Feel free to use those methods in the future, as it's hard to take your thoughts seriously when being verbally attacked. Peace and love.

This gets ever more ridiculous. We had the jukebox. We even paid for it! It was taken away, along with pretty much everything else that made the site interesting, without any warning, and now we have to ask to get some approximation of it back. Life is too short for this nonsense. Dustbin Lid: it worked out as just over 10 pence per day, over a year. That's not exactly beyond the means of most people, regardless of the economic climate, and anyone who chose not to pay still got more from the old site than what's now on offer. But I agree that even such a nominal sum has turned out to be a waste of money.

It's just the truth, honestly expressed.
