In late November 2012 I, like many others, spent £32.50 to become a Premium Member of Paulmccartney.com. I was pleased that I joined quickly enough to be a Pioneer member! My main reason for joining was for the promised exclusive access to content which never materialised. The message coming back was not to worry as the site was still in Beta and the membership year would commence once the site was out of Beta testing. On 1 November 2012 premium membership ceased and as ?compensation? a package of goodies would follow. The 2 downloads that followed can hardly be described as a package of goodies. I?ve waited long enough, nothing further has materialised and I would like a refund from MPL/Paulmccartney.com/Topspin/HP or whoever is responsible for the service that I have not received. Could Paulmccartney.com Admin who from time to time have posted on this thread please respond. Or could one of the moderators please pass this on to MPL for a response.

Although it might not have been the most noble way to go about it, the way things have played out have only reaffirmed my belief that the entire "premium membership" offer was a test-marketing project... ...that we paid for. Expenses were higher than expected, and they yanked it, not anticipating the enduring blowback from MANY disappointed fans. I BRAGGED about the site. I TRUSTED this venture because I TRUSTED Paul McCartney himself. But it looks like this was run with the same callous, bottom-line principles as any other "business."
I wondered about it being a marketing test myself. I've been a marketing test guinea pig since grade school. What bugs me is we were told, those of us that qualified, that we were Pioneers for life. it's why I rushed rather then waited to see how the memberships panned out

Thanks Anita. Something is wrong with my computer and I keep getting just a black page when I click on those links. I will reboot and try again. I did initially go to that redeem page, but had trouble logging in with FB and Twitter as I said.

Can someone please explain why only pioneer members are getting their membership back and not other premium members? We did, after all, all pay money for it. I feel cheated yet again. I'm getting really sick of this. The state of this place has already driven me away a lot and now I'm being told that only the first 1000 premium members get their status back and I don't. Please, for god sake, be fair.

Pioneers will be getting nothing other than the word Pioneer by their avatar. What are people who paid money, like me, losing, besides what we already lost? Nothing more.

Was able to contact Topspin who gave me a new download code which I used on Google Chrome instead of IE and it worked just fine!

Hi Frankie, Pioneer status was a "lifetime" membership that was offered to the first 1,000 members to upgrade from basic to premium membership at the main site. Pioneer status was simply an honorary title. Pioneers never received any special privileges. If the premium membership had remained in existence and one of those first 1,000 members to upgrade had decided not to renew their premium membership, they would have retained their honorary title of "pioneer." In other words, pioneer status was a marketing tool, an incentive to create a buzz, to get people to upgrade swiftly. I have not been personally informed and therefore cannot write with absolute certainty, but I imagine that those with pioneer status will not be receiving any special privileges and/or treatment, just a title appearing along with their username. I imagine that returning the honorary title of "pioneer" is simply an acknowledgment of the promise of "lifetime" membership - nothing more. Hope this explanation helps. Anita

So it seems we're going to get 15% off items in the new merch store,ok there's some nice stuff in there and i will finally use one of the "goodies". Looking back the whole affair has left a very nasty taste in my mouth we were shabbily treated theres no other way to paint it,frankly i expected more from something that Paul endorsed.

When I put one of the expensive Wings t-shirts in my cart and went to check out, the postage was more than the 15% discount. I removed it and will do without.

I think, that the news section should do a much better job on updating the status of projects Paul has in motion.....There was supposed to be a classical guitar piece since 2009, an album of McCartney covers for his birthday in 2010 or so and more recently the status of his new album. The fans would love to know what's going on but the site never updates the fans on such info while other artists do. I just think that there should be much better information sharing to some point, although I relaize that you can't release some things. Also, the re-issue program (Archive Collection) which is taking so very long for the very few albums that have finally been released. After the new two on the flyer, if the program done or does it continue?
