I wish I could get on the Garth Brooks train because he's such a decent guy. But I've yet to like a single song I've ever heard from him.

Aww...you put that soo nicely Audi...I feel the same way...he seems such a sweet guy, but I just don't make the music connection with him somehow??

I've tried.

I'm not a fan of Garth either but as I said in a previous post...a friend had died & the song seemed appropiate.

Johnny Cash Willie Nelson Loretta Lynn Shania Twain are my favorite Country artists.
-
Which makes me wonder: Where IS Shania Twain these days? She was all over the place at one point.
-
That funny, Audi...I was just about to post this tune by Shania! THAT DON'T IMPRESS ME MUCH -- Shania Twain
PS...I think she just got re-married and has a reality type show coming on the telly, or is already being aired. -
Yet another with Shania..... YOU'RE STILL THE ONE....- Shania Twain and Elton John

Suddenly, I'm in a listen-while-you-work kinda' mood.

I remember the Chris Gaines project, which was intriguing to me. And the songs were well-crafted, but nothing really grabbed me.

I like the Garth Brooks song "Shameless," it's very romantic and sexy, and "Friends in Low Places" isn't too bad. I'm not familiar with any others by him. I always wondered why he was so overwhelmingly popular, to tell you the truth--it's true he had some charisma and personality, though. His eyes were all lit up or something, too. Sparkling. Carrie Underwood's and Miranda Lambert's singing really gets to me, ugh...it's from the Tammy Wynette school of high yet flat, sharp, ultra twangy caterwauling, which is a very, very popular style among country fans, they seem to really love that. Sounds kinda like a fingernail draggin' cross a blackboard to me I always thought Trisha Yearwood, Crystal Gayle and the gal who sang "At the Twist and Shout" (what happened to her?? I can't recall her name rite now) can really warble. Oh yeah, her name is Mary Chapin Carpenter, I think.
