THE MOODY BLUES...
-
Justin looks better today than back in the day if you ask me.

Nancy R:
I love the Moody Blues and have all their albums (in vinyl) and a "Best Of" CD as well. I think they're my 2nd favorite band from the '60's after The Beatles of course.
-
had to check last night the date of mr Hayward's gig in case it clashed with macca - it didn't so no need to make decision.
-
I found that I really liked Question heard live.

One of my all time favorites also. Every Good Boy Deserves Favour is my favorite albums of theirs. It was also my mom's favorite album by anyone. Also have a double vinyl best of This is the Moody Blues on the Threshold label.

After 34 years i finally got around to re-buying Long Distance Voyager which is a lovely album! I have seen the Moodies three times over the last 8 years or so, but i wouldn't go now as the setlist is even more stagnant than Paul's is! I have a friend who's a huge fan, but even she's given up on hearing anything other than a greatest hits show.

Love their 7 albums made in the psychedelic era. "Long Distance Voyager" is a record I don't have in my collection, I probably should, it's on my wishlist...

I managed to get the 2008 remaster for £5.99 and it sounds really lovely and clear! Probably their last really strong album for me.

Thanks for the tip, BOYCIE, I decided to order "Long Distance Voyager" while I wait for the "FourFiveSeconds" CD single to ship. It has been delayed.

Another cool thing they did was a soundtrack thing to "The War of the Worlds." An entire album, if I'm correct. Their beautiful deeply emotional song from this that wails "but you're not here" makes tears well up, still. Justin Hayward is one of the most handsome lead singers in rock They played Myrtle Beach with the Eagles a few years back and everybody had a cow, just loved it, but were more psyched over the Eagles than the Moodies. Some even thought it was almost like the Beatles playing there (Ringo did play there!). I digress, but found out Bob Dylan is playing Durham N.C.--I'm sure it's already sold out--would have loved to go.

Justin Hayward appears on Jeff Wayne's War Of The Worlds album from 1978 not the Moodies Suzy! The song you're referring to is Forever Autumn which is a beautiful song indeed and was a big hit over here in the UK.

I bought that album when it was released here in the states. Richard Burton narrated it. When Jeff called Justin to ask him if he'd sing Forever Autumn for the venture, Justin had to convince Jeff that it was actually him on the phone! I remember seeing a clip with Justin commenting about that. 7 minute excerpt from the album featuring...Forever Autumn

Got the 2008 remaster of EGBDF also. Lots of goosebump moments! Highly recommended!

Got "Long Distance Voyager" a few days ago and have heard it twice so far and I think it was better the second time already. Guaranteed a grower and strange that I didn't have it in my collection from before, it made me want to find the others I also have, a slightly The Moody Blues fever.

That's a great album! When I read your post earlier...I looked for the last Moodies cd I bought and finally found it. It's a 2 cd set called... moody blues LIVE...lovely to see you released by...image entertainment

Live album. I'll put it in my wishlist, there are some new (studio) albums coming out now in April by different favorites of mine: Ringo Starr - Postcards From Paradise Dwight Yoakam - Second Hand Heart Brian Wilson - No Pier Pressure Records i'm looking forward to. Think I must prioritize.

The question is in my head today

Since i last posted on the Moodies and Long Distance Voyager i've played it even more and love it to death, a real gem of a album of there's! I think the song In My World might even be my favourite song of there's ever, it's magical and really beautiful. I've contradicted myself from a earlier post about not going to see them live ever again, now i'm off to see them two weeks after Paul's shows in London locally, 6th row too, playing their music a lot lately has pushed me to it!

I love The Moody Blues! The Question just came to my mind tonight:
