Halifax, NS - Halifax Common - 11th July 2009 - ARCHIVE

lots of excitement and anticipation generated by those few lines and the word 'confirmed' paul has a thing for ships, boats, the oceans. i think that explains some of his decision to perform there. perhaps halifax has a competing game going on with quebec city and seeks to top it. somehow. course that wouldnt be their main reason for wanting paul--he's paul mccartney

How awesome!!!! Yay PAUL!!!

WONDERFUL News!!!
-
he's doing this on my birthday party a party that has been planned month and months ago. this really is not fair. birthday birthdays and birthdays!
-
I am almost one-hundred percent sure I'm going to this. Going off to college in August, so I really do not want to miss this, like I did Coachella. I have to be in another state on the 12th, so I will by flying right after the concert. HECTIC, EXPENSIVE, but WORTH IT!
-
will book that day off and if I get tickets I'll fly!!
-
By the way, I read tickets will be on sale for $125.00 beginning on May 29.

Seems rather expensive for a General Admission concert - but I'm sure it will be a sell out.

Nothing official on tickets yet, but scouting around: cbcnews.ca has this article: http://www.cbc.ca/arts/story/2009/05/20/novascotia-mccartney-halifax.html Which states this:
cbcnews:
Tickets will go on sale May 29 at 9 a.m. AT through Ticket Atlantic and at participating Atlantic Superstore locations. Tickets will cost $125 for general admission and $305 for VIP tickets. Promoters say between 5,000 and 6,000 VIP seats will be available.
If correct, here is Ticket Atlantic's web-site: http://www.ticketatlantic.com/en/home/default.aspx With a specific page for the various purchase options here: http://www.ticketatlantic.com/en/home/services/purchasingtickets.aspx No page for Paul's concert yet. The web-site doesn't appear to offer a newsletter up-date service for artists so keep checking back there. Like Ticketmaster it offers the option to create an on-line account ahead of ticket purchases. Ever useful, here's the direct link into Ticket Atlantic's FAQ page: http://www.ticketatlantic.com/en/home/faqs/default.aspx Martin

UPDATE: Ticket Atlantic do now have an official Paul McCartney concert page: http://www.ticketatlantic.com/en/home/concerts/paulmccartney.aspx The ticket prices on there do remain To Be Announced Sale time confirmed as 09.00 AT Friday May 29th. Here's a link to the World Time Server time zone converter set up for that moment, just switch the calculator to your own local time zone to find out when tickets will go on sale: http://www.worldtimeserver.com/convert_time_in_CA-NS.aspx?y=2009&mo=5&d=29&h=9&mn=0 Martin

The performance is set for July 11th. There's an "Early Bird" ticket price of $125 (taxes included). This will be McCartney's only summer appearance in Canada (or North America, in fact). Attendance is limited to 60,000. Tickets go on sale on May 29th. Promoters say between 5,000 and 6,000 VIP seats will be available for $305. Two opening acts (to be announced) will be selected. Exact details for ticket purchasing soon to follow.

Paul had promise to sing "Beautiful night" in his next show in Canada... I cross my finger and I hope in some new addition to his setlist

Hi All - I am currently living in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Needless to say, VERY excited about recent news that Paul will be performing here in July. A few points for those looking to join us for the concert: -The Web site selling tickets (Ticket Atlantic) has been known to crash when flooded with traffic - I believe the site crashed during the beginning of the sale of Elton John tickets, and MANY people, as a direct result, were unable to secure tickets. The main thing to remember is to NOT refresh your page, etc. once you have proceeded to the checkout. You may be "waiting" a little while for it to process. Hopefully they have worked the kinks out for this sale, but who knows. I'm debating doing a phone-in order, or just doing the old fashioned line camp-out. -The hotel closest to the concert site is the Holiday Inn on the corner of Quinpool & Robie. This is across the street from the concert site. I would advise booking rooms NOW, as hotels in the city book-up VERY quickly, even for smaller events. If you want contact information, just let me know. Or you can just Google-it like the rest of the world! -If you are unable to secure tickts, there are some reliable local sites you can find tickets. Let me know if you don't get any, and I'll let you know.

And here I was excited about getting to see Paul ONCE this year at the David Lynch concert, now I find out that, hours away, Paul will be in Halifax. I'm not sure what wonderful deed I've done that karma is rewarding me for, but I must say that this concert will be a wonderful way to celebrate my birthday (Bastille Day, July 14th to us Americans). ) Plus, I've never been to Nova Scotia, so it will be a night of firsts for me. Thank you, Paul! D

Does anyone know if this will be SRO? What kind of venue is it? Will there be a mad dash to the front-like the gates parting to the Red Sea. LOL Thanks~

Canada will be rocked again by Paul!!!!

Halifax Commons is an open field venue with every facility brought in for the event - fencing staging, seating, toilets food stall etc. The next concert on the site a week later is Halifax Rocks featuring Kiss and support, that concert is also being handled by Ticket Atlantic and the web-page for that sale has greater info about the venue - already including a venue map link: http://www.ticketatlantic.com/en/home/concerts/halifaxrocks2009.aspx The venue is unseated General Admission with the exception of the VIP areas. Although I've read nothing about Premium tents and suites for Paul's concert - maybe that'll be more VIP seating? Type Halifax Commons into Google Images for a variety of images both a green field site and laid out for concerts: http://images.google.co.uk/images?q=halifax+commons&gbv=2&hl=en&sa=G As to the mad dash - for the GA area - there seems to be only one entrance area so it looks like it's shaping up that way, get in training...
