Local bands Wintersleep and Joel Plaskett Emergency were the openers as well as a folk artist/fiddler from Winnipeg. Being a maritimer I'm a bit bias but Joel Plaskett was great. Heres some video links to a couple of his songs.
Oh nice to know and get a chance to watch those videos, thanx! Very interesting, and I liked their sound, felt good.

This will be my last post on the board. I expected a forum was to be a place where everybody could put forward their thoughts and opinions in a robust but mature way. Obviously aside from the few who always reply in that way (you guys know who you are, and thanks for all your posts - I've always enjoyed reading them) the rest are happy to hurl insults or post some of the most childish and inane stuff I've ever read. If this board is only for sycophantic "Paul can do no wrong - everything he does is genius - Paul's poo doesn't stink - all he touches is gold" then this ain't the place for me. Goodbye everyone and good luck! Enjoy your musings on what it would be like to kiss Paul and What is Paul's personality like...etc, etc, etc...all very rewarding and stimulating stuff for the true fans. Oh, and I'm sure that will keep the mods happy... In the meantime, I'll look elsewhere for stimulating and honest debate. Out. R
see ya' later...........the real fans will stick around here, so don't worry.
he'll keep sneaking! no one can leave the board!

Junior's Farm" or even "I Want To Hold Your Hand" or "She Loves You" would've been amazing openers....
Give your head a shake... the concert was for Halifax...they've never had the privilige of seeing him live before. So why the hell wouldn't he play the hits for them?????????? Jeez...selfish much????
dont you consider "She Loves You" a hit???? I would think that the people of Halifax would have been happy to hear that song.

EEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! Just watched the link for Mull of Kintyre from NS. I would DIE if he did that in NY! I can't wait for Saturday night. We're in the home stretch now!

http://www.ngnews.ca/index.cfm?sid=268625&sc=516 Mayor, concertgoers still abuzz with McCartney mania after Halifax concert THE CANADIAN PRESS HALIFAX ? The morning after he rocked the Halifax Commons, the love affair with Paul McCartney wasn?t over. From the mayor to concertgoers to promoters, everyone was still basking in the glow Sunday of a concert that seemed to have gone off with few hitches. Dear DavidP, do you really think only you and everyone who's pleased with the setlist are "real fans"? Sometimes when I'm on this board I have the same feelings like motops. Yes indeed, this should be a "place where everybody could put forward their thoughts and opinions in a robust but mature way". But often I get the feeling that this isn't possible and that it makes no sense to discuss. I am the admin of the most popular german Beatles community on www.erdbeerfelder.de and on our board we have a huge variety of opinions, but I never experienced something so unpolite, ignorant and childish. Sorry.

I've been following the various viewpoints regarding the Halifax set-list here. Certainly we should post with respect to each other - and with respect to Paul - some of the earliest posts when details became know were quite forthright and uncomplimentary about Paul directly. We ask members avoid directed insults toward each other on this message board. That has not been the case between some here There is clearly a conflict between those that seek the excitement of Paul extending and changing his set-list and those that simply wish to celebrate and document this particular event at Halifax. For those that wish to campaign for changes to the set-list - there does exist a thread where this case has been made for some while - with the hope of change for this particular tour: http://macca.paulmccartney.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=70645 Perhaps if the case for new songs was made in that topic rather than here in this thread - about a concert that has now happened (the setlist is not going to change after the event) members here can hold the particular debates they desire without the conflicts seen here. Thanks Martin

That video where Paul signs her arm is PRICELESS!!! I love it, thanks for posting it. It's wonderful to watch a fans dream come true right in front of your eyes. For the set list discussion, I understand peoples fustration with the same songs over and over because Paul is so talented and has so many other great songs to choose from, so it would be nice to see him mix it up. But, as a fan who has never seen him live, I'd be just happy to be there, singing and dancing to those beloved tunes and I don't care what he sings. By now, we all know his set list doesn't change very much over the years, so it's really up to the individual to decide. Do you want to spend your money and your time there watching Paul sing the same songs? If yes, buy a ticket and have a good time. If not, don't buy a ticket and don't to his concert.
Amen. I have never seen Paul live either. I am tired of these people "Paul needs to do some different more obscure stuff. I've seen him 17 times now and...." Paul won't do that. There will always be someone (like me) who hasn't seen him and wants to hear these songs.

They didn't check my bag at all (it wasn't a big bag, but it was large enough that you could fit lots in it) - they just waved me on through. I didn't see anyone with any problems, though, Maggie (NYC Paul fan) is probably the best to ask - I know she was bringing good cameras!

Cameras were allowed in, it was mentioned on the FAQ. They only checked for food, umbrellas and alcohol, but not cameras!

It`s actually pretty radical of him to do so many songs from Electric Arguments in these shows. Most people in the audience won`t even have heard of that album, let alone heard it. He`s not going to replace Hey Jude with Motor of Love at these big stadium shows, and that would be incredibly disappointing to those who have not seen him before. The people who have seen him 5 billion times are, I feel, being a little inconsiderate towards those who have not seen him before. On the occasions when he does smaller shows, that is when some of the old staples get dropped.

Thanks for the camera info, I hope it's the same in Boston.
