Dear Boy:
On Youtube, I see videos for: Live and Let Die Hey Jude Paperback Writer Drive My Car Mull of Kintyre Blackbird Back in the USSR Band on the Run In addition to that, we know he did Calico Skies and Day Tripper (!). So that leaves 26 songs unaccounted for...
I bet I can have a good guess what those 26 songs were..
LMAO !!!! Classic...

Maybe it's because I'm an over the top Beatles fan, but I hate to read the negative posts on here. Why would you go to a concert if you don't want to hear the music he's going to play? If the songs have become 'tired' to you, then don't buy a ticket. If you've seen so many of his shows that you're bored with it stay home. I just don't like the negativity and I can't help but feel a little protective of one of my lifelong idols. I trust Paul's judgement to make his set list.

I agree with this post so much They say that Paul is boring...NO...they are the ones that are boring. Every time Paul does a concert they come on here and trot out the same negative comments about his set list. He is 67 and still out there giving thousands of people great pleasure, lets enjoy every moment of him while we can.

UGH....he opened with DMC. Enough already. Thousands of dollars spent since 1990 This is a bummer.

Now I know what to write on my poster........ PAUL WRITE ON MY ARM PLEASE AMAZING 9 MORE DAYS TO GO!!!!!!!!!!

I like your button, Hope for a Set List Change. Perhaps if he does SIng the Changes, those of us hoping for a major overhaul in the set list will hold up posters with SING THE SETLIST CHANGES!

You are 100% correct. Why are people complaining so much? I would give my right arm to go to one of Paul's concerts no matter what songs he played. Give the man a break, he is 67!! Maybe those are his favourite songs to play in concert!

I apologize if I sound like an ungrateful person. I know I am blessed to have seen him as many times as I have. I live in a metro area and he always make stop. For that, I am thankful. I guess I will always hold out for an opener of VM/RS/J. I knew WOA before I even knew the Fab. I am not happy that Drive My Car was his choice to open.....AGAIN! But, if you are asking me if I am going to sit out next weekend's show at Citi Field? You have a better chance of playing pick-up stix with your butt cheeks! C'mon....this is Paul McCartney we are talking about here.

Awasome video Meaning these 3 children, lindafan??????? http://macca.paulmccartney.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=63730 Paul keeps always surprising us. Not one concert is the same as any other concert, no matter what the boring change-the-setlist-brigade claims

Well, and every time after those comments there are the same old "let him play what he wants to play - if you don't like it stay home" arguments. You can turn it any way you like: Although every Macca concert is an exciting experience (and I've seen a dozen Macca concerts too and will continue to do so IF HE STILL LOVES EUROPE/GERMANY!!!), it's a bit sad that so much interesting material is left untouched. Missed possibilities.

I split in the middle - there were couple of surprises (from the little of the set list I know)...but predictably, the surprises came in the form of Beatle songs and not Wings/solo (Day Tripper comes to mind). But I'm glad that A Day In The Life is still in there as I'd like to see that at Fenway and while I didn't watch the 'Something' Youtube video yet, I'm hoping it's the lengthier version that includes both uke and full arrangement parts (similar to what he debuted with his Concert for George performance and has used in subsequent shows there after). I'm hoping that some of the 'unknown songs' (to me) from last night's set list includes seldom played songs from his Wings/solo era. Btw, some people are knocking the choice of Calico Sky...but I have yet to see that performed live. As far as I know, he has yet to play that one live on American soil (at least on his full blown tours - don't know if that's true of his 'one off' shows)

I AM DYING TO HEAR CALICO SKIES! For some reason I never heard it until 3 years ago, and since then it has become one of my all time favorite songs! Of course I get all choked up and teary eyed, most times to the point of sobbing. : Can't WAIT to hear it live IN PERSON!!!! THAT"S THE ONE wunjo!!!!!

Hope for change? You can hope all you want. It's not gonna happen. Tragically Paul's shows have become set in stone. I see a similarity to Elvis' last few touring years. Like Elvis, Paul is ridiculously talented, and unlike Elvis, still fit and vocally capable. Elvis was content to stage concerts that were in effect, Greatest Hits packages and that's what Paul's have become. Fodder for the masses. Musically and vocally astounding shows, yes, but shows played by rote. McCartney shows are now "events." It's all about when Paul rolls into town and the buzz that precedes the concert, probably more than the concert itself. Ironically in their heyday, The Beatles used to compl;ain that people "came to the shows to see them, but not listen to the music." Paul's shows are tending toward that too now. Partly it's his age and the fact that nobody knows how long he can keep doing this or will choose to keep doing it. I wonder how many are real fans and how many are going just to be able to say "I have seen Paul McCartney play live?" Before every gig Paul teases us with promises of "surprises." Hello??? It's not 1966 anymore. In the computer/twitter/mobile phone age what is going to surprise us at a Paul McCartney concert? We all know what's going to happen before we even get there. Sure, we all whoop and holler at the familiar notes of the all too familiar songs, but it's a reaction born out of respect for the music - the legacy, more than genuine astonishment at the material or adventurous performance. The setlists are evidence to me that it's not primarily about the music anymore, it's about Paul's place in music history - his legacy. If only Paul realized his place in music history is assured. He's been at the top of the heap for soooo long with and without The Beatles that his place is assured. The Beatles don't need reinforcing: what does need reinforcing is his music after 1970. He's been giving us gems for 40 years after The Beatles folded. I wouldn't even care if he played the same songs at every second concert, but not at every show. Oh, what I'd give to hear Letting Go replace Let Me Roll It. Helter Skelter replaced by Old Siam Sir or Junior's Farm. The Long and Winding Road might be substituted with Warm and Beautiful...or...well anything! Just give us some change - any diversity in the setlist! He even continues to play what might be considered "lesser" Beatles and Wings songs in the shows. I'm at a loss to wonder how the band can keep playing the same songs at every show. How do they keep ethused>? How many times can you play Drive My Car without wanting to scream?!!! I wouldn't blame any of the band if they decided they were stagnating and wanted to break out - just for the chance to play different material. I sincerely hope that doesn't happen because I think they're the best toruing band Paul's ever had. But if it did happen, I wouldn't be totally shocked either. At almost 70, Paul is still creative, hungry for new things and giving us solid and memorable studio work. Conversely his concerts have become overblown Beatles tribute shows. Of course after every gig the forum boards light up with opinions similar to mine and just as predictably the responses come back, "Give me your ticket and you can stay at home" or "Just be grateful Paul's still doing concerts," or the insulting "You're not a real fan." But I vent my opinions out of frustration. It doesn't mean I'm anti-Paul, unloyal or otherwise. In fact I'm more hardcore than most fans. It's so frustrating to me that he doesn't perform concerts that are representative of his entire career. Paul likes to share this anecdote: "I like making people happy. I'll be in a store and a guy will walk up and say 'man - Hey Jude, I met my wife to that song or 'Penny lane - I remember where I was when I first heard that.' I like that." Well I remember where I was when I first heard At The Speed Of Sound, or Back To The Egg...or Junior's Farm. Those songs have brought me immense happiness too. Sure I know it's chiefly about The Beatles - but it's not ALL about The Beatles. How can he continue to dismiss 40 years of music on the stage? I wish Paul could relax enough to ponder his entire career and consider playing gems from all of it for the paying public. The same paying public who bought the songs originally on things called records. The same paying public who've supported him in goods times and bad, and yes this member of the same paying public who'll still be there first on the phone at every given opportunity to see him...

BRAVO, MOP TOPS! BRAVO!! How about Listen to What the Man Said instead of Band on the Run? PLEASE!
-
I agree with you Mop Paul have an obsession about to play songs that the most of the people dont like. He told in the past an his current nightmare: He played and the people leave the stadium and Paul scream:"stay in stadium! Now I will play Yesterday!". For me the only change to hear new setlist is a special concert made for Hardcore fans...

It's not about what people likes or dislike...it's about the fact that he has a million choices from his own catalog and there are many well know songs that are overlooked....But the flip side to this argument is that it's 90% from people who travel to see him at almost every gig possible who make this argument and believe it or not, they represent the minority. A lot of people have either never seen him before or maybe just one or twice; I think those people are probably fine with the set list. Even though I'd prefer a better variety, I try to consider that last point before I blab off my big mouth As aside, there is some variety (even if it's not as much as it could be)...Just from the tours I've been to, I'm sure the number of different songs I've seen Paul perform is near or even over 100
