The Who: Fall North American Quadrophenia Tour
-
Anyone thinking about seeing this? 36 US Arena dates...rather extensive for them these days. They'll be performing the album in its entirety, followed by some classic Who hits... I'm not sure if I wanna go though. I've been kicking myself for the past four years for not seeing them in 2008 when they came around...but since then, Daltrey's voice has been getting a bit rougher...and the concert is on a Tuesday night, and I'll be in school...makes for a crappy morning, as I'm sure many of you know.
: ...what's a poor concert-goer to do?
-
I would go if I was you, this will probably be the last chance you will ever get to see The Who.
-
Not sure if I'll go, Quadrophenia is my favorite Who album, and they're playing a show at the Honda Center. But the ticket prices are sure to be high and I can probaly go see some new up and coming artist for a fraction of that. Decisions, decisions.
-
If I'm not mistaken, two of my all-time faves are in that project. "Love Reign Over Me" and "The Real Me."
-
Yeah macs...I was sort of thinking that too. AbeeyRoadCrosser, it seems tickets for all venues are $50-$150...I'd probably just get average or, cheap seats for this, if I go. And yes, Audi, both tracks are here
-
Go, go, GO!!!!! It will be awesome!
-
I LOVE THE WHO!
-
I'm gonna be strapped for money. Elvis, Kimbra, and The Shins are all playing dates late September, and I'm going to try to get to all of those. And Joe Jackson and Diana Krall are touring soon. Want to see The Who, but towards the bottom of my list. I'm sure it'll be great though.
-
I don't really have much of anything set for the fall yet...goin to atlantic city in september to see Ray Manzarek and Robby Krieger of the doors...but my other 3 shows are in July/August! Of course, I'm still holding out for the possibility of Paul in the fall...but I think I'll try and go see The Who. Got an email today about Bob Dylan and Mark Knopfler coming to the same venue the following week....No thanks!!!
-
I would love to go see Bob Dylan, if it wasn't so hit and miss with his voice and mood.

I wouldn't mind seeing Mark Knopfler live once...but you could not pay me to sit through a Bob Dylan concert...okay, you could probably pay me...but I'm not paying him!

Quadrophenia is an all-time classic, and I saw The Who play it live in 1973. I will definitely be seeing this if I can get tickets!
(Still hoping the Rolling Stones will announce a 50th anniversary tour.)
-
Quadrophenia is not my favorite Who-album, but I would love to see The Who live so I would do it (esp. if they play some of their greatest hits after that). And I hope the Stones will come on 50th anniversary-tour, too. And I'd go to see Dylan live, don't care if his voice is a mess, it's still Mr. Robert Zimmerman, one of the few livin' legends (like Paul, Who and Stones).

...using the term legend a bit loosely there...eh?

im not sure about the who full stop. roger daltry is a terrible singer these days and has been for some time. i used to quite like pete townsend but after his dabble with child porn im not so sure i can be bothered with him anymore...the whole thing was very disturbing. the cool bass player[john enwistle] died a couple of years ago whilst the cool drummer [keith moon] died decades ago. not alot left really

Quad is my favorite Who, but unfortunately the date is wrong for me. Gutted because they are awesome live.

What? Don't you agree that Paul McCartney, The Who, The Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan are legends in music history? If not, who else is? Justin Bieber?

Do you really think that Pete is into child porn? I really doubt that.

Paul McCartney and The Who fit the bill.

He is a legend. Here's what he brought to the table: When he went electric, he single-handedly put the world on notice that rock music can have conscious lyrics. Prior to that, only folk music had been the leading "voice" of the youth movement. Nobody was doing it before him. For the record: I'm not a fan, but I acknowledge and respect Bpb Dylan. There would be no Bono without Dylan. There would be no John Lennon as we knew him to be. And on and on.
