OK, here is a couple of "new" tracks, first is a weird arrangement, it is a cover of two songs, with me playing Ukulele and singing. The original is from Hawaiian guy called Israel Kamakawiwo'ole that died in 1997, and his original is fantastic. When I heard the song I just wanted to grab my Uke and give it a try, did the recording very quick! Here ya go! OVER THE RAINBOW/WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD DOWNLOAD: http://rapidshare.com/files/314450739/Over_The_Rainbow-What_a_Wonderful_World_-_Bjorn_-_Global_Wings.mp3 LISTEN: http://www.reverbnation.com/tunepak/2069822 Song nr 2 is an "oldie"! I already did a remix of this song a long way back, and now I played with some software synths to try to do a new one. The basic track is my piano that I used a synth to change the sound completely, then there is a bass and drums, and some VERY altered vocals, it is not for the auto-tune-haters , I tried to do it very modern, almost Cher-ish, just for the fun of it, hope you'll cherish the recording! Over the Rainbow is great, and astonishing as you know!! I like the experimental mixes you come up with. Nothing wrong with messing, and you did a great job on C'Mon People. I often laugh at people who say "John would turn in his grave" with the use of technology these days. I disagree totally, John would LOVE this type of stuff. He and Paul have always been "cutting edge".
That poor guy must move around a lot in his grave, there are many mentioning him doing that all the time, especially when Paul is mentioned in the same sentence! :

And here you go....and yes, Gary, I listened to YOUR version as well. Here's "Paul's most neurotic song" according to Artie. [I Am A Rock[/size">](http://rapidshare.com/files/314946254/IAmARock.mp3]<span style=) (click to download) You'll see what I mean with having to sing in two octaves...the part of "gazing from my window..." should have been a lot lower but that seriously hurt my throat. And I capo'ed it on the 7th fret already.

Happy Thanksgiving, I like to find excuses to do celebrations, so great if you celebrate something, whatever it is.
Thanks Oliver..... we are actually celebrating independance from Britian!! and since it's the British who created this holiday, I guess it's OK!! America, the great huge melting pot! By the way...I'm not sure how you are uploading your songs....but for some reason my work computer does not approve and keeps kicking me off, so I will, again have to listen to rags to riches and mad world at home... Adam Lambert has caused quite a stir at the American music awards...

knowing John he would use the weirdest possible things see Tomorrow Never Knows... About vocals, he never ever liked his voice as it was and always asked to George Martin to add anything, "ketchup, whatever" Paul and John tried then things that what no-one used... but also didn't use things that everyone used... they simply were different from anything, today they would be different from anything there is today too...

okey [MAD WORLD (Adam Lambert's way)[/color">](
Nice sound, and good, quality production. Nice use of reverb there Oliver. Sounds very good.
well, thank you, maybe I'm reaching some kind of maturity or whatever if someone ever wants to do it... the vocals are very exhausting... the problem is the same melody over and over non stop, no time for breathing. Actually I notice is easier if you don't sing the same way every line. Now seeing Lambert he seems to struggle when he repeats the same melodies over and over at the beginning and the bridge, not afterwards, then he changes and it's easier. It's the same old story, it's easier to sing 10 songs, than singing the same song 10 times. As for the piano, I never though I would talk about this but well... these were my keyboard settings, some can be interested to go deep in this. I can choose "touch sensitivity" from 0 to 3. Zero means no matter how hard you press a key, the volume remains the same. 3 is similar to a acoustic piano where volume depends on how hard you press. I virtually never use 3, maybe sometimes for improvising loud. I use 2 sometimes when I record a piano-only based song. If there are more instruments I use 1 cause using 2 there's lot of "dynamic range", and it sounds weird, I would compress it now, but better if I already play "compressed". Almost everything I ever recorded is with touch 1(except for some piano and vocals only tracks, but not of this kind). Now, "release time" is how long a note last after you stop pressing it. I use to use "13", thought sometimes I use "0" when I want something happy (think Penny Lane), honky-tonkish (think a Elton rocker)... In rock and roll music the normal thing is that, Elton, Billy Joel, Paul McCartney, Freddie, etc play with none or short release time. But not John Lennon who used to play with long release time, with the piano pedal on... (Imagine, Love, Jealous Guy...) like many classical music playing. I choosed released time "20"... and also there is "attack time" what means how fast a notes becomes full after you press it, and for these it had to be slower than usual, more like the Beethoven's famous sonata... where notes seems to fall like raindrops over the piano...

well, not so long ago I joked about "perfect-pitching" Elvis with any software to show the result... Today I've bought (for only 7 euros!) the Comeback Special, the 3 DVD one... And I think some have already auto-tuned Elvis. Bjorn will confirm, but I think Elvis vocals are autotuned in the high notes in this remix... in the part where the video is from the Comeback Special... Elvis sang the song in a way a little bit "against his voice", rough.. so the high notes are quite broken. But knowing Elvis he already did that on purpose, just like in If I can dream. You can see the difference Let Yourself Go Remix 2009
Let Yourself Go, where the vocals came from, Comeback Special 1968Don't know anything about that 2009 version, but I don't think they have altered the concert videos, they seem intact, have seen them too...
No, I didn't mean that... my post was very confusing. Fact One: I've bought the Comeback Special (and as far as my ear can go nothing at allll is auto-tuned, and I hope they remain like that forever ) Fact Two: After seeing the Special I searched in youtube that song and then I saw that remix using the vocals of the Comeback Special, and that's autotuned in the high notes. Is an example of what happens if you do it to Elvis.

well, don't worry unless he appears in your dreams being angry with you... we musicians and fans dream sometimes of musicians... and they use to be great dreams... The only (in my dreams) complain I've had (after all I've done... :lol is Elvis telling how to sing high notes, you know... but he wasn't angry...

I thought the Independence was 4th of July... but maybe you celebrate it twice... well, it's great to celebrate things twice too. I guess you can't open mp3 at work... It's simply a mp3 file with nothing more... maybe that is blocked there. Maybe is for the better if your loudspeakers are better at home. I'm checking Adam Lambert news (I keep an eye on the guy, I think he can be one of the best singers ever...) oh I see, something similar happened with Britney Spears and Madonna..
he sings before the kiss "can you handle what I'm about to do?" or so... well, I don't mind, people should talk about if they like the song or how he sings it... there's lots of sexual charge in these shows... at least since Elvis did it, though Elvis only needed his little finger... -

and My LAST comment for the night. what's the big deal about autotune???? It makes my car run great!! g'night ya'll
my english is not good enough to get your joke auto-tune will go as it came... just like... electric drums... those ones on the 80s... I like that Jay-Z's 2009 single is called "D.O.A." Death of Auto-tune
I don't mind people doing auto-tune at all, it only bothers when some producer does it to some singer I like... cause it simply spoils the performance. We're getting to a point when lives performances seem better than studio ones. I don't know if Jay-Z is responsible but I'm glad they don't autotune Beyonce -
Here's the headless video for I Am A Rock! (newly recorded this afternoon)
Someone stop me, I just can't seem to stop playing guitar these days :...now I've already "test-recorded" a McCartney song...I mean, I gotta celebrate the fact that I'm going to see him again in a week, don't I? Will try to record this properly next weekend.
