McCartney, it seems, has not committed, at least publically, to any shows in 2014.
Well he has done at least one show in 2014. At the Grammy Salute to The Beatles he was live on Monday night! He played a 7 song set in top form, with 2 songs featuring Ringo Starr!
I'm talking about tour dates, full on concerts. Ringo did that Grammy salute too, and has announced a full summer tour of the USA.
C'mon. Of course you are. But he has already played a live show in 2014.
So far, Ringo has about 28 dates announced for 2014. McCartney? Zero. I like to think McCartney designs his tours around Ringo's so Ringo can have the maximum impact! I suspect more McCartney dates are coming. Probably announced next month.
It is rather interesting to look back at the history and note that the only time Paul and Ringo have toured the same continent at the same time, they ended up performing together....this is of course Ringo's 70th Birthday concert in 2010.

This would be a great year for that to happen again!

But in New Mexico this time, right?

Of course! Claro que si! Honestly, I am less engaged about it when McCartney announces dates and there is no New Mexico show. I get it. I understand. It's when there is HOPE or RUMOR and PRESS that he may do a show here then doesn't that I get all worked up!! That's not Paul's fault. It's the local promoter's fault.

Hearing late spring/early summer for Europe/uk. Don't go crazy, just a rumor and remember, never really official until Paul announces it.
If true, would that mean late May / early June?
-
I would think that would be the timeline hearing that. I wouldn't put too much about time between the shows and announcing the shows. Ringo announces way ahead of time because he usually needs that time to sell the tickets. Paul can sell out stadiums in very little time and it could have something to do with custody.

Yeah, I spend very little time worrying about such things!

I'd rather him do the US again in the spring/summer because I love those X-mas shows at the end of the year

Paul plays Fedex Stadium, Ringo plays the Toledo Zoo. The dichotomy is amazing.
One was the co-lead singer in the Beatles, a front man for the band, sharing that role with John Lennon, and was a co-writer of some the most memorable songs of the 20th century. The other was the drummer in the band. It is a testament to Ringo's Starr power that he can sell out 2,000 to 4,000 seat venues. What other drummer can do that?
Very well said!

The Hollywood Bowl has announced three concerts celebrating the 50th anniversary of Beatles at the Bowl, August 22-24. Dave Stewart is the ringmaster and musical director. I wonder if Paul and Ringo will show up one of the nights. parlance

Very cool! I'd say that with Dave Stewart as musical director and the shows being in LA, it's almost a given that Ringo will be there. His tour will be done by then too. Paul is a bit harder to predict, but I think it could happen.

Suppose there will be concerts in Europe in late May / early June. how long in advance should they be announced, judging by previous tours in Europe?

It has been different each time. The Christmas shows in 2010 were 2 weeks I think whereas the summer tour that year was just under 4 months

There have been a lot that are released freakishly late, and some get more advance than others....but I think a safe average would be about six weeks notice.

Thanks for the info. So the June 2010 concerts were announced in late February / early March?

Thanks. Last year the 3 European concerts in June were announced in late March, so maybe an announcement for concerts in May/June can be made in late February / early March?

I looked through my emails and I got my ticket to the June 26th show on March 3rd which was the day they were released. Not sure on the date they were announced sorry.
