I'd say nothing is definite until he walks on that stage...to a CHEERING crowd. And THAT will make him feel better.
For sure. Wish I could be in Albany to give him a roaring welcome back.
I can't believe I'll be in that audience! Don't worry, I'll give him a great welcome back from all that can't make it!!

Lubbock thought they would be doing it. I would wait and see.

It looks like Missoula & Fargo are the only ones not sold out. Although...there are tickets available through scalpers I assume...even for the sold out shows.
Well hurry up and come on up to Miss and Fargo! Good times should be had
-
I know people will not like reading this, but once the Out There tour is over, maybe Paul should consider doing shorter shows... 90 to 120 minutes at most. It would be better for his health, and that's what actually matters.

Honestly, a 1.5 hour show of amazing songs would be very powerful. It's going to happen. Time waits to no one. He is only human. It's just a matter of when.

I bet fans in Albuquerque would not complain even if he showed up with a 60-minute set.

Probably not! Ha ha! Not sure why Albuquerque is skipped, but Lubbock, Missoula, Lincoln, and Fargo rate a show. Whatever.

Looking at the new dates a positive thought occurs to me. The dates from the leg are spread out over a much longer time frame - almost a whole month. There are 2 9-day breaks in the schedule. Heck he plays Lubbock and then has nothing for 9 days. I wonder if McCartney's touring team my try to schedule a handful more dates (3-4) to fill in those gaps a little. Just thinking positively. RamblinRed
I like the way you think! However, it could also mean that Paul thinks he was in over his head in retrospect scheduling so many shows so closely for the first time in about ten years.
I would think it has more to do with his schedule with Bea. Looks like it's disrupting the normal flow of his custody, but he's cobbling it together in October around the tour dates.

I know! Still, I find it hard to believe Missoula, Fargo, and Lubbock can afford a show, but not Albuquerque. I always understood Denver and Phoenix, but now it's just insulting! Ha ha! I won't attend any shows. If Albuquerque, and therefore I, can't afford a show, then it is ridiculous to think I can afford it in Lubbock or Missoula. AND, some of those shows haven't even sold out, so they have not performed any better than a show in New Mexico would. I mean, after he plays Missoula, Fargo, Lincoln, and Lubbock, do I really even care if he plays Albuquerque now? Kind of takes the luster off of the event for me. So I will save my money this year and spend it on Ringo Starr this Summer, who is playing Albuquerque!

He had to reschedule for October because November starts NBA/NHL... And those are all arenas. He probably also has plans for November and December.

I posted this on the Jacksonville thread, but repeating it here, since I think it's feasible. Very interesting thing on the rescheduling I just noticed: It was recently accounted that Ringo is coming to Florida, including Jacksonville on October 18 Ringo's Florida dates: Oct. 18 Jacksonville Oct. 19 Fort Myers Oct. 21 Fort Lauderdale Oct. 22 Melbourne Oct. 23 Clearwater (final night of his tour!) And Paul's new date for Jacksonville is Oct. 25. That raises the possibility for some cameos at each other's Florida shows.. Neither of them have shows on the exact same nights. I'll bet there's at least ONE cameo during these one of these shows. (After Nashville on 10/16, Paul does't have any other shows til 10/25 in Jacksonville. I wouldn't be surprised if Paul turns up at Ringo's Ft. Lauderdale show on 10/21.... I predict Paul vacationing in Miami or maybe the Keys that week, and he loves 'Sublime' restaurant in Ft. Laud.)
-
I seriously doubt Paul would be at one of Ringo's shows, even if it is the last night of the tour. It's not like...his 70th Birthday or anything However, there's already strong rumors of Ringo appearing at some Paul shows in August, so I would certainly not be surprised if Paul brought him out in Jacksonville.

The reason for where he plays is pretty simple. Where is the promoter willing to guarantee the payment. The tour will have a minimum that a promoter has to pay to get a show. Then it is up to the promoter to figure out how to recoup that expense (and any other expenses they are responsible for). On the reduced concert length. Mark Rivera did an interview on the Things We Said Today podcast a couple of months ago. He talked alot about the all-star band, but he also talked some about his own album, Billy Joel and McCartney. One thing he said that had my ears perk up is that he would love for Paul and Billy to tour similar to what Billy and Elton have done in the past. He thinks it would be an amazing concert tour. Billy isn't in the greatest of health so this allows both to have moderate length shows and create one big show with likely overlap of playing together. RamblinRed

That is a great idea. Something will have to give eventually. It already is.

Ugh that would be a nightmare to me. I'd rather Paul do a shorter show by himself. I saw him and Billy twice together in Citifield and Yankee Stadium and frankly the song was ruined by his presence. That is a great idea. Something will have to give eventually. It already is.

I suspect you can find plenty of Billy Joel fans who might say the same things, only the other way around.

I'm sure you could. Poor souls.
