Paul McCartney 2014 Rumors
-
It would all be solved if the fee were reasonable and normal. The Stones are able to go and they are bigger than McCartney.
-
Mr. Martinez, Paul needs the money. If not how will he feed his cat?

Ok. Based on what is McCartney bigger than the Stones? And you can't include the Beatles, that is whole other story!! I am talking about a touring entity.

It's been reported that three Brazilian cities are unoficially confirmed for november, and two more are waiting a reply from Paul's staff. Once they decide how many of those five cities will actually host concerts, all contracts will be signed at the same time and the dates will be announced.

I am getting worried about Argentina. After the "no dollars to pay Paul" message, nothing new was heard. The question that pops to mind is: How come they have enough dollars to pay the Stones but not enough to pay Paul? :

Actually, that man (Zanoni) told me there's no money to pay the Stones either. He said they will only be able to pay for the Foo Fighters because it's a less expensive concert, brought by a company called T4F. Paul and the Stones were being negotiated by another company, Fenix.

Whoever has dollars, can you help bring Paul to Argentina?

The governor has just stated on twitter that the november 10 concert will happen.

He's certainly bigger than Mick Jagger. Mick's just a skinny little thing.

I think they must be about the same height and Paul is quite skinny as well (not as much as Mick though).

I have just read that Paul is considering doing shows in 4 Brazilian cities: São Paulo, Brasília, Rio de Janeiro and Cariacica (metropolitan area of Vitória). Apparently the contracts will be signed later this week and the announcements will be made soon afterwards. No actual news of concerts in Argentina, just a lot of conflicting reports.

Last thing I've heard before all the thing about how to pay him, was a rumor for the 11th November. With the first gig in Brazil being the 10th, it is really impossible for Paul to play in Argentina on 11th. So... unfortunately I don't think this is going to happen.

Isn't Rio de Janeiro too close to Vitoria? Why not both concerts in Rio or both in Vitoria?

Rio, São Paulo and Vitória are all located in neighbor states. That's why people are confused about those choices (if the reports are true). Usually I would say they are inspecting a couple of stadiums for november and a couple more for 2015, but there is a rumor about this being Paul's farewell tour of Brazil...

If the farewell rumor is true, I wonder if he is considering calling it a day all together?

I don't believe any of that for a second. Paul has said throughout essentially his entire career that he'll go until he's dead or can't even be wheeled on stage anymore! If this thread has taught me anything, it's that the South American media sources are even more obnoxious than the North American sources, so I'll believe this when I hear it from Paul.

I doubt it too, although the illness in Japan could have made him start to question the viability of doing all this touring. (R.E.M.'s drummer Bill Berry retired from the band soon after ending up with a brain aneurysm while on tour in Europe in 1995. He was fine afterwards, and made one more album with them, but just didn't want that crazy lifestyle anymore.)

Fair enough. Still, it's one thing to say "I'll tour til the end!" It's another thing to actually do it when you are 75 or 78 years old, and age starts to catch up with you.
